Someone recommended I post this here, so here we are! I am posting this in an effort to find actors for an Ys IV dub being done at Voice Actors Alliance by GeeMac32bit. If you think you could voice a character for this game, please check out this page: voiceactingalliance.com/board/showthread.php?t=45645Thank you!

With Ys IV being my favourite in the series, this is kinda awesome. I don't think it needs dubbing, but I'm certainly going to audition. More games need South African accents! EDIT: You've been blogged.

Oooh, this sounds sort of fun! Maybe I'll have a go. I have been told I do good impressions and voice work before.

QUESTIONS: if you guys are doing the dub, what is the status of Nightwolve's text patch? he seemed pretty hostile to people regarding sharing it, removed it from his site, and now it's difficult to get hold of. There's also been talk of him putting viruses in his patches and distributing them.
Are you guys going to be co-ordinating a new patch release? What's Deuce's view on all this? He did the translating, so perhaps he could donate the text for a new patch to be coded?
I don't want to sound negative, I love that you guys are doing this, but there seems to be a lot of problems pertaining to any project Nightwolve has worked on.

I'm going to give it a try. I sadly only have my crappy laptop mic, but what the hell- no guts, no glory.

There's also been talk of him putting viruses in his patches and distributing them. NightWolve has a new site nowdays and all his translation patches can be downloaded from there: www.ysutopia.net/projects/As far as I know, they're all virus-free, including the 99% complete beta patch for Oath in Felghana that was leaked in the past, but is now publicly available from NightWolve. By the way, you may want to clarify in your blog post that there's three very different versions of Ys IV (none developed by Falcom), the dubbing project only being for the PCE version, to avoid any confusion: * Ys IV: Mask of the Sun (SFC) * Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys (PCE) * Ys IV: Mask of the Sun - A New Theory (PS2) The SFC version is also playable in English, thanks to Gideon Zhi and Deuce.

I'd probably try out for it but there's no way I'd be able to do recordings without a lot of noise. This house is noisy and I have no door to my room.

I'd do it, but I'm in a similar situation to Ryochan.
):
My bro said he'd be interested as well... We'll see?

I'd give it a look, but some of the lines need work. I mean, seriously. When I wrote Breath of Fire 2, I pretty much wrote the script with an English dub in mind. Not that it'd ever happen, but the reason the dialogue gets such rave reviews is because I pictured how the dialogue would be said before I committed anything to the script.
I would love to end up with a part in this, but only if I get to add my own tweaks to my own lines. :3

If I had a microphone that captured all the harmonics of my voice, I'd do it.
My voice is a bit lower than recordings of it found on the internet might suggest -- the microphone does not have a range that includes low frequencies. This has the effect of making me sound like I'm still prepubescent.

One of the roles IS for an 8-year-old kid, y'know... (:

This sounds pretty cool, and I've considered doing voice-acting in the past, but I don't know if I'd have the means/time to do this. Thanks for the link though
