Just the title of the thread says we're talking here about our favourite kusoge (games so crappy that they're awesome in their own unusual way). Here are some of my favourite kusoge (the only ones that come to my mind right now): - Cheetahmen 2: probably the only kusoge game which has such a catchy music theme to the point that inspired a lot of fan-made remixes (expecially in Japan). If it wasn't for its so many bugs it would be a classic. - Tattoo Assassins: The worst Mortal Kompat clone fighting I've ever seen. It was so crappy that it never been released to the market. A new fact I learned toaday in Wikipedia: G-Mode bought the rights to Tattoo Assassins along with most of Data East's other titles. Hmmmmm...how about a petition for releasing it as a downloadable game for PC and consoles? As if!

Heavy Nova. Probably the single worst fighting game ever.

Castle Shikigami 2- this is a good game gameplay-wise and has the amazing benefit of probably the most nonsensical voiced English dialog in video game history, not to mention tons of it depending on what character you play the game with and if you are playing with a second player.
Overblood- hands down the funniest survival horror game ever, and totally doesn't mean to be. Features what appears to be a man trying to fake a female character's voice (apparently there were no women at the office that day), garbage combat, graphics that are inexcusable for the PSX, and a heart-wrenching cry for a robotic buddy that you only met five minutes ago. Awesome for fans of the genre that actually want to laugh at something else other than RE dialog.

Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. Brought it to a college club get together one day and we all had a blast laughing at it.
Probably a lot of other stuff too, I convince myself to like a number of bad games and forget that they're bad.

I like a decent number of unpopular games, but I think the only one that I'd be comfortable calling a kusoge which I legitimately enjoy is Super Pitfall.
I honestly do really like that game, though.

Sailor Moon Super S for the PSX. Horrible fighting game, but it holds special memories for me, and I do kind of like the music and graphics in the game.

I really like Genpei Toumaden by Namco (I'm getting ready to write an article about the series, too).
It's not a bad game, but it has some really glaring design flaws that keep it from being an across-the-board good game; those flaws were what gave people a bad impression of the game that one time people tried it out in "Namco Museum Volume 4". Those include the "WTF" physics on moving platforms, and the screwed-up invincibility frames that can lead to certain death.
It's definitely one you need to give time to grow on you from a gameplay standpoint, but if you do it's worth it. I mean, how can you hate a game where you're a zombie samurai that looks like The Crow, and the last boss pops up Godzilla-sized to squish you with a fan (with the word "DEATH" written on it) if you take too long?
Also, I enjoyed Overblood as well; I loved the camp values that vysethebold mentioned, and it's also a lot more forgiving than Resident Evil (another reason I liked it). A similarly schlocky but better constructed game is "Deep Fear" on the Saturn, which is both better than the RE port on Saturn and import-friendly thanks to the English dialog.
Oh, and adding one more: Die Hard on NES. It's a bad game with lousy graphics and music. But it's also pretty fun since it forces you to wage guerrilla warfare, avoid glass, and do just about everything else McClane had to do instead of just glossing over it and making it a straight action game.

- The Tousou Highway 2: Road Warrior 2050 A simple 2000 game, it controls like turd, and I've the feeling that something I've been missing out sinds it's in japanese, but it's probably some ankward game design that you have to expect from a simple 2000 game. But on paper it's actually pretty cool, in a road warrior ripped off post apocalyptic japanese setting, you drive a junkcar trhough the japanese wasteland so that you can bring some medicine to bring it to your comatose wife in time. You get constantly attacked by wasteland raiders/bandits in junkcars, at times you have to step out of the car infiltrate a raider fortress (along with one of the worst camera controls for a character on foot), kick some wasteland raider ass and blow the place up so that you can pass through with your car. Boss fights where also fun, in the car you get sometimes chased by big customized junk cars with all kinds of modification. And in the Raider fortresses a boss character might await your presence. To bad it plays like turd, in some competent hands and a bit of budget it can be actually interesting. - Street Boyz/Kenka Joutou! Yankee Banchou Just low budget Banchou beat'em up-ish fun from yet again simple 2000 series. - Dragon Sisters/The Nadesico Another low budget albeit a more traditional styled 2 player beat'em up fun from, again simple 2000 series. - Seven Samurai 20XX Tons and tons of boss fights with fantastic character designs wrapped into a boring game (which doesn't need the seven samurai name at all) - Mutant Rampage Bodyslam Hilarious bad animated sequences, hilarious bad voice acting, Hilarious bad quotes, dodgy spritework and backgroundart, wonky controls. I love the futuristic gladatorial setting a la The Running Man, tons of boss fights again, kinda like their designs as well I have a CD-I Specially for this game Check some of the bosses out: - Kabuki-Z Kinda like this game, but it controls really weird, it's an early pre-Final Fight belt scroll game. Again it has tons of my favourite thing, boss fights. I did a review for it: www.the-magicbox.com/forums/showpost.php?p=536847&postcount=6

Robot Unicorn Attack - Gay Canabalt, in a nutshell. It's actually very playable and quite fun, better gameplay than for-real Canabalt IMO. Overblood- hands down the funniest survival horror game ever PEEEEEEEEEEPOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde(NES): I have an irrational love for this game. It's such an odd book to make a game out of, the atmosphere is weird and interesting, and the fact that you have to reverse directions when you transform into Hyde is weird and unusual.

Coincidentally I wanted to start up a weekly column about hilarious kusoge, which might start up this weekend, assuming this head cold doesn't render me unconscious for the next few days. I will probably be taking some submissions, if any of you guys are interested. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde(NES): I have an irrational love for this game. Commissioner Hidetoshi, my filthy gaijin soul has missed your glorious presence! ORZ Ha ha ha. I have been in corporate office until late hours! Have you seen the PS1 Import Store on the PSN? Less than twenty games! It is just like a Wii Import section! First I raise the gaijin import hopes, then I crush them! Then they will pay me however many yen I want for a riduculous moe Famicom kusoge. Ha ha ha.

Plumbers Don't Wear Ties. Brought it to a college club get together one day and we all had a blast laughing at it. Man, I forgot to mention this game...ok, not exactly a game, more like a visual novel which is probably a result of drunken office workers who are bored with the routine of their daily life. Thanks to the Angry Video Game Nerd I learned about this "masterpiece". Another kusoge I like and I learned from a guy I know is Animal Soccer World for PS2. At first, this guy had a clickable signature with this game on a forum which links to a thread he made about this game and how much it rules. At first I was "Is this guy for real?" but then I realised how stupit I was and he was of course being sarcastic. And even though I'm not a videogame collector if I find this game on a discount basket I will grab it without second thought and play it with my friends for the laugh (Did I mentioned that there are lots of YouTube Poops with this game?). And since I have a friend of mine which is a videogames collector I was thinking to buy him this game as a joke. Off topic: is there any thread with the worst fighting games at this forum?
