Y'know that old cliche about old people saying how they had to walk miles up a hill in snow to get to school when they were young? Well, the children of Gulucan village in West China are going to have the mother of all "When I was your age..." stories to tell their grandkids. No, they don't have to walk up a hill, nor do they have to walk through snow. Instead, they walk through a small path carved into the side of a cliff 1 mile above the ground! As to why they do this: Apparently, because of inconvenient geography, this is the only possible way they can reach their school house. But I have no explanation for why the village doesn't just build another one in a safer to reach location. There are only three pics here, and only one of them actually shows the kids walking the path, but that image alone merits creating this thread. It's one of the craziest things I have ever seen. The unbelievably brave children of Gulucan Village in West China

You see that last pic? With that sticks and the students? That is why they don't just build another one.

Ok, now zzz's hilarious posts have disappeared.
Oh well.
Pretty awesome looking mountain, though.

And now I look like a douche. Thank you so much. I actually want to go there, the nature looks beautiful, lots of nice trees and whimsical mountains. I also want to see just how much effort these kids have to put into each walk to school, just beyond the incredibly high altitude.

Now doesn't that bring new meaning to "no running" and "don't push."
