Somewhere in Lithuania is a hill that's home to a rather unique tradition. The details of its origin are unknown (if I'm not mistaken), but some time, many years ago, the locals began engaging in a custom where they would bring crosses to a nearby hillside, leaving them either imbeded in the ground or just laying around, in hopes that it would bring them good fortune. Over time the crosses started to really pile up, to the point where the hill is now literally coated in crosses. And I'm not exaggerating in the slightest here. Every inch of the hill is covered in crosses, as if they had been poured from the sky. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, the image that this creates is quite unique. To see so many man-made objects - all of them the same shape, and most of them quite small - amassed into such a large formation in a natural location like this is just not something you see everyday. When I look at some of the pics below I can't help but think that it looks like it could be a set piece in a Megami Tensei game. The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania

zzz, no joke, in spite of what I said on the other thread I was actually looking forward to these. I mean even with the description, I still couldn't imagine it was something that looked that cool.

Well come to think of it, living in Puerto Rico, this actually resembles an outdoor ceramic artisan shop for gardening. But without the fountains and flowers.
