www.hardcoregaming101.net/flicky/flicky-02.pngFlicky was an early arcade game of Sega's, one that gets a little more recognition than usual due to its Genesis port and her many cameos. The basis of the game involves rescuing baby chicks while avoiding cats. www.hardcoregaming101.net/flicky/flicky.htmI haven't played this in a few years, but I think I remember hating this game! Though mostly because that Sega Genesis PS3 collection made you play this game to unlock Fantasy Zone. And I never got a high enough score. :\

This is a pretty decent game. Similar to Mappy but with its own dynamic thanks to all the bird babies.

Which is weird! Because I don't really like Flicky but really enjoy Mappy.

I have really only played the MSX version of Flicky (in an attempt to get some sense of Micronet's development history, and how the hell they managed to go from that to Heavy Nova), but I liked it enough, I suppose.

I wouldn't say Mappy and Flicky are all that similar mechanically though, despite sharing the "small critter trespasses into a house to collect something and gets chased by cats" setting. Incidentally, I have it the other way round - think Flicky's pretty nice, but don't find any fun in Mappy.

I wonder why they didn't try and make a Flicky minigame to unlock in a Sonic game over the years. Actually aside from the cameos it seems like Adventure was the last big role from them.

derboo - They merely remind me of each other. Gameplay wise they are a little different; Mappy is less flexible with its controls than Flicky is. I prefer Flicky too because of that, actually.
