www.emu999.net/rom/PC98/TONS OF GAMES also easy to download. laggy, but it works. Also if you have google chrome this helps allot due to auto translate. Games will have a download button in there page. and it will link you to a download page the third link with the arrows is most likely the one you want. Since it's the regular download. Honestly I found it looking for an eroges, hahaha.

Is that site even safe? I saw something that said "windows installer" and freaked out so closed the page. Anyway, has anyone seen D' or dee-dash in their search of PC-98 games? I have the PC-88 release, but not the alleged PC-98 ver. fullmotionvideo.free.fr/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1329ディーダッシュ (Dee-Dash) D' [diːdæʃ] Dixdaef SF Violence RPG By: Tecno Soft

It is I've downloaded stuff off of it before. What you need to do is click on a blue name link. Go to the download button. And click the 3th link with the 300 near it. The problem with the site is it's on an asian server. Also it has pop ups due to this. I was able to get two games off of it.
It's already got tons of dedicated pages to each game with screenshots, date, publisher console etc. Also descriptions for more major games. Also it has a forum. I've read through with google translate. It seems fairly legit albit not user friendly for westerners.
I apologize if you had trouble I also got a installer thing. This I bet was due to the sites multiple download methods. Only use the this option as it's the only one that works and seems to be the safest though slow.
Also awesome link I will check out that tokugawa place. Also the retro gaming site looks awesome!

Any recommended, easy-to-use emulator? And if possible, a mini tutorial about how to use it and run games?

Any recommended, easy-to-use emulator? And if possible, a mini tutorial about how to use it and run games? I've personally used Next since it was the main one PC-98 Gamebase uses. It works pretty well and I even understood it once I found an english version. You can get it here, for example. The same page also has bunch of information. Mind you that some of the emulator is still in Japanese, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure it out. There's also Neko Project 2, which I've never tried, but I've heard couple of people recommend it. Thats completely in English as far as I can tell. Git 'er here

If you're looking for another PC-98 shmup, Compile's Rude Breaker is also well-known, besides the already mentioned Touhou and Flame Zapper Kotsujin. Personally, I use Anex86 configured according to these settings. They were set up for Touhou, but all other games I've tried them with work fine.

Too bad I missed that Panic Bomber update. That site didn't update in so long that I thought it was dead. I tried playing the other PB games (after maybe an hour of getting beat in the story mode). I'm surprised the SFC version (and from the looks of it, PC98) doesn't keep score in story mode (being a puzzle game, you expect that as a standard feature to keep you playing better than just trying to win). I'm surprised at the lack of an endless mode, which you kind of expect in a puzzle game.

Too bad I missed that Panic Bomber update. Here you go PC9821 Panic Bomber http://www.sendspace.com/file/j5kdlg With regards as to which emulator, np2fmgen is by far the best and easiest to use, and still gets regular updates. Save state alone is a god send. T98 Next isn't something I used much but is a good alternative if you have trouble running a certain game. Last updated in 2010 Anex86 is looong outdated but is handy if you want to use a text hooker to translate games. Basically if you're not sure, just go grab the Neo Kobe Emulator pack from Tokugawa fullmotionvideo.free.fr/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1161
