Also, Shaq Fu in the related articles section has a picture of Skate or Die instead.

"[Mortal Kombat is] horribly dated and tacky-looking by today" Is it, really? I think it's much less awful than early 3D models, for example.
"MK was a hit in North America" Huh, why just North America?

Ah this game I remember a while back finding it on mame and had to record a video of it for my online friends reaction to it to how broken it was. The game always gives you Mongo first. He kills me in seconds around the 9.00 minute and it was set to easy.

"MK was a hit in North America" Huh, why just North America? Because we matter. EDIT: just to be clear, I'm not one of those Americans that thinks this way. But you have to admit, our country's pretty kickass . EDIT: Ok, not our government, mind you. But cheesesteaks loaded with fried chicken, fried cheese, and onion rings kick ass, and we've got them apparently. Or New Jersey does.

You mean other parts of the US don't...? I'm sure they do, but not with the joie de vivre that I witnessed there. Sadly, my return trip was cancelled. Fuck. I wanted to take a trip to Next Level at least.

You mean other parts of the US don't...? Fuck all we have here is chain restaurants... We used to have some good steak houses or so my dad says... OT: I'm a bit young to remember this time, but why was cloning Mortal Kombat so popular in the states? Was it because it was made by an American company? Or was it because making a Mortal Kombat Clone was easier? Or was Mortal Kombat actually that much more popular?

Again, Mortal Kombat wasn't popular exclusively in North America and nowhere else, I still don't understand why it's presented like that in the article.

Again, Mortal Kombat wasn't popular exclusively in North America and nowhere else, I still don't understand why it's presented like that in the article. It's kind of hard to present a viewpoint from a country other than your own without having actually been there to experience it. I don't see why you're making a huge deal out of it here. Besides, the actual text of the article doesn't say anything about it only being popular in America, just that it was popular in America.

I'm not making a big deal out of it, I just asked a question.

If it's not a big deal, then I'd prefer we quit talking so much about this semantic issue. It is what it is and I'm sticking with it. If there are more legitimate comments or criticisms about my article, then let's move onto that. For example, I question why I even wrote about this game in the first place and wrote even more than a conventional Your Weekly Kusoge article size.
