DOOM I probably wouldn't be too hard to play without a mouse, even for someone like me who grew up in a post-mouse era. But some of the more annoying stages of DOOM II or a difficult DOOM mod without a mouse sounds like straight up hell. I'm playing the second episode of Back to Saturn X right now and the ability to quickly aim at different things or turn around 180 degrees is definitely a lifesaver in many instances.
Having free mouselook with up/down aiming in DOOM is blasphemy though. Never tried using a controller for replacement of WASD though. That sounds pretty interesting to try some time, and if it's anything like Splatoon it'll be second nature to me.
I think the main attraction for a lot of people is going to be the fact that each pack adds a whole bunch more families to the game (and hopefully some more cool Galarian forms). With how little focus there is on single player content this gen it wouldn't surprise me if there isn't a lot of stuff to do and the main purpose is to add more mons. Maybe the second pack will actually have something resembling a dungeon.
Either way it's cool to finally see Pokémon join the 21st century. They really should've done the same with SM, but then, that gen was actually pretty interesting to play through the single player so it's less of a problem if you have to start from a fresh save.
Speaking of Pokémon, I'm replaying Shield since I lost my saves. I really want to get into the online multiplayer, but the single player is such a slog to get through again. There's an option to 'skip movies' but almost nothing is counted as a movie apparentely, so I'm still clicking through a whole bunch of text. The only 'movie' I think it skipped so far is when you board the train.

Remake of the first Mystery Dungeon. I kinda feel like either that actually leaked or some fans of Mystery Dungeon pine for it so much that eventually some of them were right. Expansions look interesting although I wonder how much content they'll have. All they said was free roaming like the Wild Area with more content, but the WA isn't exactly brimming with non-combat content.
