www.hardcoregaming101.net/swordmaster/swordmaster.htmA fairly uncommon NES game that tends to be on the pricey side these days. I actually do remember playing this at a Captron stall in the middle of the local mall and thinking it was really cool. I should revisit it.

Maybe? It was made by Athena and they seem to be similar, so it's possible.

It might be worth noting that a song from Sword Master later appears the Game Boy game Twin, which was also developed by Athena. Compare track 8 of the Sword Master NSF to track 9 of the Twin GBS to hear what I mean. I don't have enough info on Twin to know if it's directly related to this series—it's a JRPG, that's all I can tell. It could be an instance similar to when Michiharu Hasuya reused the "wise man" theme from Rygar in the game Dr. Jeckyll & My. Hyde.
