Just a quick glance reveals a redundant line to me:
I use the word "more" a hell of a lot in this article, but it's particularly egregious when I say it thrice in a single line.
... in fact, a word search indicates I've said this no less than twenty-six times. If anyone can think of any appropriate points to eliminate the overkill of "more" before launching the final product, please do so.

"more substantial" > "bigger", or "longer"? "giving the programmers more space" > "allowing the programmers to"? "more evenly distribute the difficulty over a longer period of time" > "spread out the difficulty over a longer period of time"?
I basically tried to paraphrase what you wrote. That could give good results.

Great game, great article! The danger zone face used to scare the pants off me. I found this part confusing: "One of their less recognized arcade shooters, Legendary Wings, has yet to pop up again on any known Capcom collection for whatever reason or another." I own this game on PS2 and could own it on PSN now, so this is curious.

Awesome article! I never knew some of the little facts about this one until now, like how the NES version wasn't released in Japan or that there even was an Arcade version. The side scrolling segments kind of reminded me of Side Arms, especially with the way characters hold their guns.
I'm sad to say this, but I was introduced to Legendary Wings through Marvel vs Capcom. Some of the characters in there were really obscure and got me to try the games that they were from.

I'm attempting to be a bit more straightforward in my writing, but there are times when I want to inflate grammar for no reason other than ego. I'd be all for changing those if Kurt's okay with it. But aye, glad y'all liked this article. The NES LW was one of my favorite games as a kid and still remains as such today. Reminds me that Capcom was actually a game company once instead of... a company. :V

I'm attempting to be a bit more straightforward in my writing, but there are times when I want to inflate grammar for no reason other than ego. George Orwell argued that if you can write something in the simplest of ways, you should, and that you should refrain from trying to make it seem more impressive than it needs to be, like using Latin instead of Saxon words (in English). And he wasn't too bad.

Am I the only one who sees a certain resemblance between the heads from this game and the head from the movie Zardoz?

I remember reading about how some male model got in contact with Benj Edwards looking for someone to hack and mod this game for a more difficult challenge.
