Ugh, there's a limit to how believable a claim is by university professor or researcher. I find this claim as absurd as "video games makes kids aggressive and commit mass murders." 'cause, you know, we had a serious epidemic of students ripping each others spines out and exploding each others heads with electricity, when Mortal Kombat came out.
I mean, sure, I guess there was a time where I thought it would be cool to turn into a girl or a panda bear when splashed with cold water. That could be a handy ability. But no media is making anyone do anything. We make our own choices.

20 years ago an Italian "psychologist" Vera Slepoj said that Sailor Moon was a model of a strong female protagonist, and the viewers identified with her, thus the anime was making little boys gay. I swear you can't make that shit up. It seems however that some things never change, sadly.

Starting in 2019, California will allow licenses to be changed so you can have your gender designation as nonbinary. I wonder if I get it re-registered to nonbinary, will it change or limit the kind of ads and junk mail I get throughout the year? www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/dl/gender_id

So once again, Logan Paul has proven that he's allergic to not saying/doing dumb crap and... has announced he's "going gay for a month".

So once again, Logan Paul has proven that he's allergic to not saying/doing dumb crap and... has announced he's "going gay for a month". Can anyone please tell me why some people think that being gay is a choice?
Or anything that LGBT+ stands for really.
Do those people think someone just wakes up and think "Man, i sure want to be discriminated against by stupid people and have less advantages than straight people!" or "I am already a minority which means i get less chances, boy, let me just become a lesbian so i can have even less chances and suffer more discrimination!"?
Because it doesn't make any sense to me, is it really that hard to believe that people are just born gay?
I mean, we've only had various people tell their stories and feelings, various studies showing that people are discriminated against and science pratically saying "Being gay or trans is normal and something that happens." but nope, let's just think people choose to be gay.

A Youtuber who was called out for being a garbage human and promised to do better turns out to actually still be a garbage human instead of better? Man, who would have thought. Real shocker there.

I know these questions are rhetorical, but
most people suck at parenting and this has a strong outcome to a person, to their psych. To a certain degree, many parents are just children with children and it doesn't really help that the portrayal of LGBT people (in the media) were awful in the past. They were treated as joke characters just for the "jokes". If something was once told, then people rarely change their minds about something. I mean, people still say no homo and it was never funny.
There are still people that don't use the internet. From statistics, as far as I know, every 4th household has internet access, thus there are still people that only believe in dumb news channels. Now, I stopped watching TV for many years, thus I don't know if they have already improved.
This can be said about school too. The lack of education in school due to the goverment doesn't really move fast. I can't speak for more than 2 countries, but some school books are from the era of the "Cold War". It needs to git gud, because it is minimalistic to sexuality, thus people tend to think that being not the norm is wrong. I have a colleague and he found his sexuality in the mid 30's. I am glad that he is happier now, but the lack of willingness from the government regarding education is depressive. It doesn't really help that certain cults (like christianity) are still big and their opinions regarding LGBT were depressive as hell. I don't know if this was a joke, but I heard the pseudoscience "conversion therapy" exist. If this is true, then this is sad. To sum up, the lack of education makes it complicated.
I guess, it needs time to be accepted. An example: Same sex marriage aren't established worldwide, but it is at least improving. Some countries accepted them since(within) the 2010's like Ireland, Germany, Brazil, Uruguay. (not quite sure, if already established or being in the procedure)
It sucks that everything is so slow.
Yours sincerely
Jack Caeylin

Conversion Therapy is sadly true and still exists, there was a report about it happening in Portugal with a group of priests and psychologists being united to tell people to do conversion therapy because it's "wrong" and "unnatural".
And i did the very stupid mistake of reading the comments section of a news site about it and it made me ill since most people were saying that homosexuality is a disease and that gay people should do conversion therapy, or that they don't see anything wrong with a gay person trying to heal or change themselves(despite, you know, the fact that it doesn't work, has never worked and only causes serious psychological damage) and even comparing it to pedophilia.
Well, good to know the internet can depress me.

But the internet can also uplift too! Plenty of warm cat and dog, and just animal hilarity sites and posts to brighten up one's day.
The main problem against the LGBTQ community is religion. What is the saying? If you can make good people believe aburdities, you can get them to commit atrocities? Anywhere that is atheist, agnostic, loosely religious, or non-religious spiritual, is mostly mostly welcome to the LGBTQ community. It's mostly hardcore Christians and Muslims that actively legislate or retaliate against the LGBTQ's. Ironic, considering how much abuse and cover-ups occur in Catholic churches.

I dunno about that, Snake.
I've met more than a couple of atheists who were staunchly anti-LGBT. They also ended up being white supremacist fucknuggets.

Yeah Snake, as an atheist myself, I've definitely come across atheists who are extremely homophobic or transphobic. Religion can often be used as an excuse to justify bigotry, but it's not necessary for bigotry to exist, sadly.
