Can someone explain what happened with THQ Nordic?
And why the hell would they do an AMA in 8Chan, that place isn't exactly the friendliest in the world, i remember going to their Mecha section and my God, were there a lot of "SJW" and "friend" posts about things they hated, you can't expect to go to 8Chan and having nothing go wrong!

A statement made on their twitter account indicates that they "didn't know" the site's reputation and were contacted by a person in charge of it. Someone at THQ even apologized about that, but this doesn't account for some of the things they said on there - for example, in response to a question about adding more "lolis" to their games, the response was to the effect of "we're already on it". And other similarly "favorable" responses to them. I have issues with the whole thing, as well as any sane person should, but what bothers me the most is that the apology ONLY covered the fact that they "agreed" to the AMA event in the first place without "doing [their] due diligence". There was not a single word of that apology that addressed their actual replies. I say, they're not off the hook at all.

The whole thing was super weird. Like they did it later the same day of the announcement. It was also done by THQ Nordic Vienna, not their Swedish main branch (which later denounced Viennas actions). One of their employees publicly apologized for agreeing to being on there while the AMA with other employees was still going on for quite a while. It was truly an unorganized shit show.

That just makes it that much worse, IMO - it's not just the actions of one person, but poor management across the board.

Yeah, not only was the whole mess super unprofessional (I mean, duh, doing an AMA with a -chan?), but almost makes it seem like THQ Vienna went rogue.

"Three hours after allying with 8chan, THQ Nordic goes into full apology mode" (Ars Technica)For anyone who's curious about this, and some of what went on in it.
Anyways, yeah, THQ Nordic really, really, really fucked up here. It's pretty sad that there's people there who thought this was a good idea, or that making comments like that is okay. I'm pretty disappointed in them. It's especially sad because they've been buying up a lot of developers and IPs, all of which will now be associated with this mishap. I feel bad for them.

It's tangentially related to the topic, but in my recent trip to Berlin I happened to stay at a gay hotel without my previous knowledge! To make a long story short, the brother of the friend I went there with lives in Berlin and works in the hoteling/restoration field, so he contacted one of his previous workplaces and managed to get a discount for the suite. At the beginning it was something of a shock, since the hotel was between a club and a fetish store, and it was Easter monday and the places organized some sort of party, so we were almost surrounded by leathermen and burly dudes (I think that a couple of them looked like Zangief) while getting there. Then again we only needed a place to stay for the night and have breakfast, and the personnel was quite polite and helpful, so we stopped caring after a little while. The decor was somewhat tacky though I also thought in the beginning that the owners mistook us for an actual couple instead of two friends (my friend if you squint could be seen as a "bear"), but then I didn't really care for it after a while, as I said we just needed a place to stay that wasn't too expensive, also we were staying just for three days.
Please don't see it as something disrespectful, it's just a funny thing that happened to me which looked like one of those stupid sex comedies at the beginning. However I bet that if I went there with other Italian friends and less open-minded ones I would never have seen the end of it...

It's nice to see support from gaming companies ^_^
Although... what is Sega Hardlight? I'd never heard of them prior to them making this post, hahaha
