Hi guys, I'm working in a tiny independent video game studio and I'd like to show you the game we've been working on for the past 6 months : Isbarah It's a mix between platformer and danmaku games, in which you fight many boss, one by one. Each boss behaves like in a danmaku, and your caracter can move like in a platformer. The link between those two gameplays is obtained by using the 3 powers of the caracter : - Time control : a slow motion momentarily helps you be more accurate - Environment control : you can build temporary platforms to protect yourself or climb higher - Dash : an omnidirectional movement to escape from crazy situations The game contains several chapters within each you'll have to fight 3 boss. We will also try to make a level editor to create and share new crazy levels. The game itself is still in production and we still have a lot to do ! We hope it will be available at the beginning of 2014. Any comment or question ? Suggestion ? Here is one of the boss : Btw we've also recently started a crowdfunding campaign, here it is : Isbarah

I love the art design on this thing! It kind of reminds me of Terranigma with its realistic landscapes with twists on them that would make them impossible in real life.
What kind of games inspired you to make this? The stopping bullets with a cursor idea kind of reminds me of Guwange and the small character sprite platforming kind of reminds me of old school DOS platformers (Jazz Jackrabbit, Commander Keen, etc.) and the fact that it's going to be full of bosses makes me think of Treasure's general style.
Do you have more information besides a release date in 2014? Is this going to be freeware or do I have to buy it through a service such as X-Box indie or Steam? You got me very interested in this game. I'd like to know more!

Hi nickz, Three game inspire us : Super Meat boy : Yeah , it's not obvious but the platformer part of Isbarah is the same feeling. You need te be accurate and find the perfect way to survive. shadows of colossus : Not obvious too , but our scenario theme is bound between people, just like Soc. And you fight only boss , just like titan. Touhou : It's a famous danmaku and it was a good inspiration for danmaku part of the game. We hope release on steam , but you can pre buy on our indiegogo campagn : /2105508 If we are on steam we send you a activation code. If we not , we send you a digital copy of the game. What do you want to know ?

Nah, you're probably fine leaving this here. I'm going to admit that I kind of gave you the form letter response here, because we tend to have random people showing up just to post once about their Kickstarter and then disappear.

What do you want to know ? What is the game's story? Is story important like in SotC or is it something you can ignore like in Touhou? What inspired the graphical design? I really like the way this game looks. Will this game have music and sound effects? I didn't hear much in the trailers, but I hope the game itself will have some great music. How do you pronounce "Isbarah"? By the way, thank you for this insider look at Isbarah! It looks like a very fun game. Edit: I hit the link and read about the story on indiegogo. Who is Iria and what is her struggle in this game's story?

nickzThe story is important but we reduce the number of chapter. So , the key of the story, and of the world of Isbarah , is hidden in the high score reward. If you win every reward, so the story became deep and a little dark. If you just take the base story with dialogue scene ( we don't explain that but it's coming ) it"s a normal story , just with some strange part, enough to question yourself about the truth. For graphics , we love 2D and game of Vanilla ware studio like Muramasa the demon blade and Dragon's crown. We are a small team but we try to do the best 2D game we can. Yes we have a nice compositor. Music are in this style : www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVBM3bX7xdwMaybe next week we will give you a extract. Tell the s , not the H. like : ISSbara. Iria is the daughter of creator of isbarah world. In the start of the game , she fight for is Dad.She want to be acknowledge by him. At start ... I'm so happy to answer to your question !

Even thought I know that it's still in development the graphics look so statistal, expecially for an arcade-style game. A little more animation wouldn't hurt in order to give some life to the graphics which look nice only in screenshots. Apart from that it looks promising. Looking forward the final result.

vetus You right ! Right now the bkg are not animated , they only have some parallax , but with little animation to give life, the will be more awesome. We work on Boss animation. Bk Animation is the next step. It's on the planning susanismyaliasThank you! It's a fun game too, maybe a little hard but we will show you more about the gameplay !

Hello everybody, First of all, I would like say I'm sorry as I have lost my account “Aman” and I was not able to recover it for some reason I don't know! I would also like to say sorry for not posting during one and half years , but a lot of stuff been happening Do you remember our IndieGoGo campaign ? It has failed, It was a big huge fail because we were too small to make big communications and maybe also because we have showed our game in a too early stage of development. However, after this fail and somehow we have received an offer from a client and finally we signed a good contract with them. This opportunity gave us enough money to finish Isbarah. We worked really hard on it, we had to run playtests every week to polish our game and then we found a partner to be on steam and finally here it is: We are proud to say that ISBARAH - The First Journey is out and available on steam! It's was a long time ago when I showed you the game so I'm giving you our last trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAzQbCPMr38To refresh your memory, Isbarah is a cross-genre of bullet hell and platformer style, it's a hardcore 2d game and each level is a duel boss fight. We also have some reviews : Hardcore Gamer www.hardcoregamer.com/2015/02/26/review-isbarah/136422/GAMER Headlines www.gamerheadlines.com/reviews/isbarahI hope you will enjoy it!
