www.hardcoregaming101.net/trog/trog.htmA single screen action game from Midway that uses claymation. About the only thing I can remember about this is pointed out in the article - it was featured prominently in the arcade scene in Terminator 2.

I remember playing the final version of this 4 player with a bunch of random kids who was not that good at it in disney quest in florida fun times. The trog caveman also has cameos on the Party Zone Pinball Table by midway and the Arcade only light Gun game Carnevil in the freak show stage.

Loved that game on NES. It's a coop Pac-Man game where you can punch your enemies. What more can you want?

I remember playing that game on an NES emulator, not knowing what it was, just because of the fun-sounding title, and I didn't regret it, it was a lot of fun.
"history for decades' or possibly forever" > decades "while it's original idea" > its "The problem is that the race of one-eyed cavemen known as the Trog who want to eat the dinosaurs alive" > That's got to be rephrased slightly, like removing "that". "playing by yourself, the screen be filled" > will be filled

Loved that game on NES. It's a coop Pac-Man game where you can punch your enemies. What more can you want? I liked the stop motion animation, and as you mentioned, the ability to punch. It gave you enough of a last-resort defense but didn't break the game (especially since they found ways to cheat later on).

I used to play this at the local pizza parlor before they got rid of it. I thought it was a fun diversion from the usual choice of 2D fighters they had, although to be fair I spent a lot more quarters on the fighting games. Never knew about the original version of it though; it is interesting when the concept of a title changes between versions, vice the usual beta fare one can find online.

"The NES version done by Visual Concepts..." - This would explain why 2K Sports/Visual Concepts has this arcade machine in their lunch/rec room. I always thought it was an odd choice!

Odd that they'd revamp the game rather than just rename the bone button. Or not have a name on the button at all. Maybe they just realized direct control was a lot less frustrating.

When you actually play the prototype, you realize just how many good reasons there were for getting rid of that stupid button, trust me.

Add a "dor" to the end of the title and you're golden.
