www.hardcoregaming101.net/chronosoldier/chronosoldier.htmAn overhead action game by Sega. Easily confused with Time Soldiers in concept, though that game was actually developed by ADK. This might be another one of those games that actually never saw distribution. I couldn't find any flyers or much of any other documentation about this game besides what was in MAME.

The Sega Arcade History actually lists this, but states that it was not very popular and only received an extremely tiny distribution. It calls it a "phantom(幻) game".

Left-clicking this link opens a blank tab. Opening it directly in a new tab works, though.

mamedev.emulab.it/haze/2018/09/05/20-years-a-prototype/Here's a shocking news. It's been discovered that the currently circulated version on internet is actually a prototype. ShouTime recently dumped the complete version, which adds a lot more to the game. Most importantly, Stage 4 and beyond now have their unique level layouts, which makes at least one point in the article obsolete. Seems like this game deserves a second look, even though it still doesn't sound like a forgotten classic.
