Aw, man... not Stan Lee, too... He always seemed like a really cool dude. I was really shocked and sad to hear the news. I'll always remember his cameos in the movies fondly.

NOOOO! was my reaction when I saw Stan Lee's name here. He's one of my favorite celebrities and to lose him is a great lost.

yeah, I had a premonition he was about to leave us as I was playing Spider-Man.
I'm not being funny either, I'm totally serious, of course it was strange how Ditko died too just before that game came out and now they've wound up dying the same year, life has strange synchronicities like that.
It's a shame, he was one of those guys you wish could live forever, but I'm sure he was missing his wife and that whole situation with people trying to scam him out of his money wasn't helping.
But the dude will forever be a legend, RIP.

RIP. Stan Lee led a very fulfilling life. And quite long, at 95 years. May he rest well. A life well lived.

RIP Oscar winning screenwriter, William Gibson. I spent some time trying to search for this - did you mean William Goldman?

I did not think that I would look back fondly on his administration. He wasn't perfect but the bar has been so lowered for American politics that many Republican Presidents from the past look pretty decent today. A guy like HW was an actual politician, he knew not to come on too strong, even George W Bush, people forget, knew this, making it loud and clear for example that the War on Terror was not a war on Islam itself, George W Bush made worse mistakes than even Trump has so far, but he at least knew how to play the game called American politics. But things have become so ridiculously polarized now and I'm not just talking about Trump but even things like Hillary's "basket of deplorables" comment, both sides see each other as nothing more than the enemy, this is a big change change from how things used to work and a dangerous one at that.

It's definitely not a good development, but it's difficult not to see people on the other side of the isle as anything but the enemy right now. I think what we want as a nation has diverged to the point that it's not really reconcilable. It's really time for a third major party.
