Oh man! I just found the copper key for chests... in a room I've been in before in the Barracks. I admit, it's pretty hard to see things when they're just laid on the floor sometimes, so I heartily encourage mashing the X button when in doubt. Still have no idea where to go for the wind magic, but I have a feeling the water magic lies in Lake Noel. Add: And I was right! But the wind magic still remains at large and I'm running out of places to check. I'm also wondering where the other two Ichirus dealies are and what key opens those brown-and-green chests... but the wind magic is the top priority. Did you talk to everyone in Ralugo? I figured out that I needed to use a wind crystal to get into the palace of wind. I was confused since I thought I had to learn the ACTUAL magic from elsewhere... but I cleared out that dungeon. A little bit boring due to the symmetrical design and having to backtrack to the chests after lighting the torches, but I'm just glad to have all magic types now. Still haven't figured out what key I need for the "ugly" chests, but perhaps this thieves' passage may hint to something.

I made some progress in KFII. I probably died much more times in the first hour than the rest of the game until now. Once you've got a good gear, magics and potions the game becomes much more manageable. It's slow but I like it a lot. The gameplay is really well thought. It takes time to get used to it but once mastered, it's a lot of fun.

Quick tip: At Lake Noel, when you pay the gatekeeper an herb and can turn the wheel, make sure you turn it FOUR times so the gray stone is facing north. This leads you to the Water magic, and when you get it, the gatekeeper disappears and you don't have to pay anything else to access the gate multiple times. Otherwise, you'd have to keep paying healing items until the only thing that's accepted are precious dragon fruits.

Can I get a hint on where you found the Magician's key? There are two, actually: One in Shudom's tomb past where the giant skeleton tosses off the rock, and another in a simpler area, semi-hidden in Lake Noel to what I believe was left of the staircase leading to the gate where you change the bridges.

I'm losing my crap because I've found at least 3 hidden rooms with treasure chests, but they've all been locked with a silver lock :/.
I'm making some progress again, I just got to Lyn's place but need to grind for cash I think so I can afford the ring. Also I need to get that crystal flask from the gravedigger. I haven't been grinding, so I really don't have a hell of a lot of cash (only about 3000 or so). The fountains are a lifesaver though. Getting poisoned is a bitch.

Welp, I'm wondering what to do now that I have all three seals. I know you have to give them to the guy you saw at the very beginning of the game, but this takes away my precious warp seals and the best sword in the game. Is there anything else I should take care of before handing those items over?

It takes time to get used to it but once mastered, it's a lot of fun. That's how I feel about the games. I've made a little bit of progress in the game. I cleared out the earth dungeon (thanks for the tip about the bridge, guys) and got the earth magic and magician's key. Prior to that I'd done about half of the palace of wind but I teleported out because of a lack of healing stuff. I've got two crystal flasks, and on my way to buy a third from the merchant in the graveyard of the barracks. What other keys are there besides copper and magician's? There's that one door that leads to the royal graveyard, but it's locked; so are two of the other keys. I also found a "sarcophagus" type chest hidden at the end of a series of hidden rooms near the southwest region of the beginning area, but it was locked (along with a wooden chest with a silver lock). Also I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned this but there's an item storage feature; in the menu under "storage" you can put up to 99 (I think - haven't seen if you can put in more) extra items of each type it seems.

If you manage to find that fucking sarcophagus key without a guide, I'll burn all my From software games. I found it sort of on accident, it felt super good. Yea, I'm not sure I'll be able to find it by the time we record the podcast at the very least. I was gonna play some more yesterday but I wasn't in the right frame of mind. I'm bummed because I went back and realized I could've had a better sword earlier; I didn't think to attack the star on the base of the hero statue to unlock the chest. By the time I did that I already had the Capricorn sword and it was a moot point!

What logic is there to attack a star with a sword, KING'S FIELD LOGIC.

What logic is there to attack a star with a sword, KING'S FIELD LOGIC. I was like "Fuck you, statue" and it was like "aah" and the star disappeared, that's how I found out. It's kind of interesting that in at least the earth and wind dungeons there's a primary goal (get the magic) and a secondary goal/quest (to get extra treasure, or a key or something). I thought that was kind of alright. It's not Wolfenstein- or Doom-tier, but there's a pretty decent amount of hidden rooms as well.
