One of Liu Kang's fatalities is Arcade Drop, where he kills someone by dropping an arcade machine on them. mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/Liu_KangHe had it in MK3 and according to the wiki, he had it in MK vs DC too. Of course!

I'm going with a slightly more obscure one. G-Coliseum in Zwei! 2 (PC) has the boss rush room.

At least something good came out of that game, then! Still can't believe I saved up $75 to buy that piece of crap back in 1992. I can't believe I put the time in to actually finish it. Ugh- I remember doing a long term lend for that P.O.S back in the day. Bar the music it was truly woeful :-( Who's bright idea was it to give Storm a water stage?

I think it was because she's claustrophobic in the comics. Still a lousy idea, any way you slice it. At any rate, I also took the time to beat that thing, only to be rewarded with an ending that lasts all of 20 seconds. I learned a harsh lesson from that purchase: fire burns.

I think that also applied to regular Ninja Gaiden, only there you got the NG Trilogy games. I think that regular NG had some hidden cartridges that you could then take to said arcade machine.

Yeah, one each for the three games in Ninja Gaiden Trilogy. Total letdown, I would have much preferred the NES versions.

Almost forgot about SEGAGAGA. The final boss is a shump where you control an arcade machine. I think it does have playable games and arcades during the earlier parts of the games if I'm not mistaken.
And Mother 3, Chapter 8.

What was that other wacky shmup that had some kind of giant arcade-themed level towards the end? Someone posted it here once.
Contact (DS) has a stage called Habara that is at least partly set in an arcade; you can even jump in and out of some of the machines. Too bad it's about three-quarters of the way through the game and the rest of it isn't half as clever.

Rush 2 had a track where you could race around a giant sized Midway office. There are arcade machines scattered in the background. You can even crash into some of them.
Man, you can see some cool Gauntlet machines in there. There's also some Mountain Dew product placement, but that's all over the game, not just in this track.

On the bright side...pretty decent soundtrack! But I feel your pain.

Sorry, had to. On a related note, Arcade makes you play a Pitfall cabinet in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance... (around 16:40)

There's also some Mountain Dew product placement, but that's all over the game, not just in this track. And also ads for videogame mags and websites. And other Atari Games titles.

Duke Nukem Forever has a pinball machine that's playable in it and maybe some arcade cabinets.
I believe I saw an arcade in either Pac Man World 2 or 3 with old Pac Man games that are unlockable.
Various arcade compilations have arcade cabinets or arcades settings in them.

The Pac Man games have a history of including original Pac Man in an arcade. Pac Man 2: The New Adventures had both the original and Ms. as unlockables.

Alex Kidd in Hi Tech World is all about him trying to get to an arcade (I think the original Japanese version, Anmitsu-Hime, was about the character trying to get to a sweet shop). oh man, this was such bullshit through! after all that crap, you get Alex Kidd there, and he goes to play the games without you like "PEACE!" yeah little guy, that's why you ended up working the register. you don't have people guide you through 2 ninja forests & pray like 100 freakin' times just to ditch them at the door.
