www.hardcoregaming101.net/windjammers/windjammers.htmThe other xtreme Data East sports game this update, this is basically tennis/volleyball but with a frisbee. I believe we briefly discuss covering the doujin game Flying Disc Battle: Crazy Power Disc (Giga Exciting), but we couldn't figure out how to play it.

Pretty much. Doujin games are pretty much completely impenetrable for me, sadly, partly because they come with absolutely no instructions, or the only ones instructions you'll find are in Japanese.
While glancing at Wikipedia, apparently they say that Iron Galaxy is looking into rebooting this franchise. Normally, I'd disregard this entirely, but I DID notice that they apparently took this off of the Virtual Console. Curious.

Also, despite playing a lot of this game on and off since about 1996, I'm still terrible at it. I just don't have the dexterity to get off a curved throw with any sort of speed. It's not that I can't do the QCF/HCF motions. I just can't do them fast enough to get the throw off at maximum (or even high) speed.

Fun game, nice article. Windjammers is probably my favorite non-fighting Neo Geo game. I like how the article really goes in-depth on how the game's rules work because whenever I try to explain it to anyone, it just confuses them.

Hmm, I always assume this was part of a series with Battle Flip Shot and Bang Bead. I guess not. Might still be worth mentioning them, though...

Second to last paragraph: "Overall, if you can get past the rather daunting learning curve, Windjammers is a lot of fun, although it's a game best played with other people."
and then, at the end of the article...
"Overall, if you can get past the rather daunting learning curve, Windjammers is a lot of fun, although it's a game best played with other people.".
Also the last paragraph says "on programs like GGPO" twice in the space of two sentences.
