www.mediafire.com/download/33k6w4xqhubpjkk/NecroBius.rarDownload the known Demo here! www.fishpond.com.au/Games/Necrobius-Paperback-softback/9780761501787/vr/ Brought this up and holy moly this is cool! It's like a Western made eastern mind! I'm not aware of allot about it, but it someone wants to tell me more. From what I can tell it's another surreal adventure game, from a unknown company. We are also looking for another game called Atmosfear The Third Dimension I am personally trying to find Crayola 3D Castle Maker, for nostalgia goggles. I anyone has any information on any of these games, mainly Necrobius please tell me or one of the others liek Dycatite. It'd be cool if Dycatie could make and article for Necrobius.

I sent Daniel Auld (the game's author) an email, but he hasn't yet replied. I will make an article for it on the Lost Media Wiki soon.
Additionally, I discovered that there used to be a website for the game (www.necrobius.com), but it is now defunct, and redirects to the homepage of Auld's current company, NeuralEssence (unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have been archived by the Wayback Machine at all, or, at least, I wasn't able to access any archives).

I think the best thing about these hunts are people setting up Google Docs. People with the game look it up to see if its worth anything, if they see a google docs saying I WANT YOUR GAME ITS STUPID RARE they will put it online. This is how I got Chu Teng, once the original iso was ripped. No coincedence I think with the Garage auction coming up either.

Hey, uh, if you find that Crayola game, I'd be happy to take it. Don't worry too much about it, since I'm sure Necrobius is a lot more interesting. I just played it once at my library's computer program, and it'd be neat to see it again.
I'll take a look at Necrobius, too, because I love this sort of era of gaming.

Huh, seems like MicroProse was involved with this if that final screenshot's anything to go by.
Interesting.

Sir, I don't understand the jokes? Also, I think we might be able to find more cool/odd builds of games if we look over the PC gamer demo disc archive. Though that's my thought. Also concerning the 3D castle maker game. www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Crayola+3D+Castle+CreatorIt seems to be easy to get on e-bay, but getting it to work we might need to use dos? It's got some cool and crazy color stuffs. As well as a cool exploration feature. I've found the shareware, but it never works? www.5star-shareware.com/Windows/Games/KidsEd/castle-creator.htmlThe shareware?? Anyways, I should look for Necrobius as well, but google searches haven't helped me much.

Sir, I don't understand the jokes? Sid Meier is a famous game designer (Civilization, Pirates, etc.) who used to work for Microprose. He's known for putting his name in the title of every game he works on. Or rather his publishers do because they think the name is bankable.

Maybe try asking on AssemblerGames, they specialise in rare/unreleased titles and the obtaining of. Chances are if the games ever existed someone there should know.

Daniel Auld replied to my email: Hi there! Sorry to bother you and sorry if this was an inappropriate email address to contact you on (I couldn't find any alternative contact methods besides LinkedIn, which requires a paid account), but I was wondering if you would be able to give me a little information on the game Necrobius that you worked on? I have read that it was cancelled outright, though I have also heard that it was released in Japan. Is there any truth to that statement? If not, how far along in development was the game before it was cancelled (in comparison to, say, the demo that was released with PC Gamer magazine in 1995)? Thanks for any light you are able to shed on this. -Daniel Hi Dan, Thanks for reaching out -- its quite interesting that Necrobius still generates interest almost 20 years after the demo was released. To answer your questions, the game was not canceled by the company in Japan, I took it away from them and started working with Micropose in the U.S. Unfortunately, the gaming industry is very cut throat and quite dishonest, so the final release got bogged down in legal wrangling even though the game itself was already 95% complete. I still have copies of the nearly completed final version, but unfortunately the engine used (Mecromedia Director) is only compatible with Mac OS 9, so to run it in any of the OS X flavors you'd have to get SheepShavor or other emulator. The Windows side works reasonably well in Windows 7, but the transitions are ugly. More than happy to answer any other questions you may have :-) Cheers, Dan What a nice dude So there you have it; I'm going to write him back and see if I am able to purchase a copy from him.

If the game couldn't be released in the first place because of legal problems, that might well be a stumbling block. But I guess it's worth asking. The situation may have change in the intervening years.

The situation may have change in the intervening years. Yeah, I took that into account while writing him back. With any luck, the legal issues will have dissipated by now. Will let you all know when he replies.
