lol i just like playing games with other people I was gonna write up some huge post about why ppl play MMORPG's, but that comment right there pretty much sums up the main reason. It's not about powerleveling, its not about questing, its not about doing any of the other stuff you can do in the game: it's 100% about the social aspect, about being a part of something: I can tell you from experience. Throughout my college life I was HUGE into mudding. I played this one pk mud called "Static Chaos" (now long dead ). It was a vicious pk mud filled with about the most immature of people, with lots of trash talking, backstabbing, cheating, lying SOB's....and by god, I wouldn't have it any other way. That game RULED my college life, my schedule revolved around it. It was text based, free (though I actually BOUGHT a mud client just for that game), and was an absolute blast to play. After it died I even helped run another mud using that codebase for a while. The competitive nature of the codebase, along with a crazy bunch of guys (the mud had at most 30-40 ppl on at once, so it was more of a community than anything else), with loose roleplaying rules made the game just that damn fun.

Yeah thats probaly 89% of the reason I play Online games. Speaking of Phantasy Star Online does any one play on the gamecube verson of PSO? I think the server is the SCHTHACK, does any one here play that one?
