I've had this series going for nearly a year, but never made a topic for it! www.hardcoregaming101.net/pcemcdmusic/pcemcdmusic1.htmAlthough I've still got a number of tracks lined up for future installments, I can always use more suggestions! So please post some of your favorite PC Engine and Sega/Mega CD music, preferably redbook stuff, and I'll see about featuring it in future installments.

Gain Ground SX and Super Darius II are personal favorites for PCE CD redbook.

Super Darius II is fantastic. Definitely featuring that one at some point.

I notice a few games have had extra songs added, the Ys ones and Rayxanber III. Any reason? Or did you just realise you liked the recently added songs too?

Well, when I started the feature I wanted to limit it to two songs each game. However, as it went on I ended up upgrading that to three (or more in a few cases) so I decided to go back and add a few others.

How is any game gonna compare to Ys 1-2 anyway?
Fighting Street
Wonder Boy 3
Red Alert
all had good stuff. But how can they stack against... eh.
Fantastic article idea anyway.

Tried listening to Red Alert, just can't get into it. Any tracks to recommend?
I've been going through a lot of Core Design titles on the Sega CD. Many were composed by Martin Iveson, and his works are really diverse. Other than Heimdall, which was linked above, Wonder Dog, Wolf Child, and Battlecorps all have some pretty decent tracks. Chuck Rock is OK but the only song that really stood out to me in the title screen. I still need to listen to Thunderstrike again.

On the first page you mention that some PlayStation and Saturn games may be eventually highlighted. Have you got any particular titles in mind? I could suggest some games.

I want games that feature the same style as these sort of early/mid 90s games, but might technically have come a generation later. The Battle Arena Toshinden games are good candidates. Evil Zone too, and Earthworm Jim 2 also as well, since even though the cartridge versions were 16-bit, the CD versions were 32-bit. I suppose some PC and 3DO titles could be included too.

If that's the case, I rather would like to suggest the CD tracks from the 3DO port of Wolfenstein 3D.
