I'm just gonna assume he's referring to cutting it so close.
I would've thought they'd make it beyond they're goal... disappointing, but hey, it's happening! Yay

It kinda disappoints me that Beast's Fury never went anywhere despite having a playable demo. It ended up being crowdfunded several times before it ended.

Has anyone heard anything about Hyper Light Drifter, Hat in Time, or Drift Stage? Besides being lazy I was wondering how they've progressed.

Conveniently, I have the sites for a number of games-in-development bookmarked so I can periodically check if any actually get released. Hat in Time looks close according to their web site, but that is still rather vague. They released a Beta version last year. hatintime.com/Hyper Light Drifter says 'Spring 2016' www.heart-machine.com/Drift Stage doesn't seem to say much, so I expect it will still be a while. www.driftstagegame.com/

This just started. Sure, Descent Underground is a thing, but Overload is a new "Descent" from the people who actually made Descent.

To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time there's been a Kickstarter campaign for the localization of an industry-made otome visual novel. Maybe it's a product of the fact that a few otome VNs have been released over the last several months, but I'm ecstatic that we may see another yet (besides Ozmafia, that is). This one is from the same people who made Amnesia: Memories, which was excellent, and it's got favorable reviews from those who played in Japanese. I really, really hope it can make its goal.

Pinstripe, a beautiful 2D puzzle/horror game. Game Grumps did an episode on it and I am really temped to throw them something, even though they already reached the goal. The entire game as it is right now was done entirely by one guy.

The entire game as it is right now was done entirely by one guy. This game is just awesome, and I love how the one-man developer faced this project. Last week I read a post he wrote at Gamasutra giving a lot of insight on how and why his kickstarter was being a success. I would also recommend to give a look to the kickstarter of A Place for the Unwilling: "Adventure game set in a living city filled with secrets to unveil. An open world inspired by Majora's Mask and Sunless Sea."
I personally know the creator, Ludipe, who's also being in charge of other lovely and mid-succesful projects such as Missing Translation.

Update: It didn't look like they were going to make it, but this morning, their campaign finished with a mere $6,000 over their goal amount. Overload is getting made. Which reminds me: if you want to play a bit of it right now, check this out! store.steampowered.com/app/450220/

"Dark Lord: The Duel is a 2D action adventure side scrolling platformer set in a Dark Surreal Fantasy setting." ((Is it alright to post links to your own campaign here? We have 2% already (just a month ago I would say it's nothing (looking at the campaigns of the other people)... but now I am extremely happy for anything we get from the people - it's kind of hard to explain unless you'll try it. Currently we are dramatically over-working on our special demo, so we don't have a lot of time to promote the campaign sadly, but we'll make it one way or the other . It will be easier once the demo will be finished. Oh, and we are on Steam Greenlight too. (And it's better to watch the trailer on Vimeo, because KS doesn't allow videos higher than 640... Sorry for a long post - just don't know how to talk about your own project the way it wouldn't look like some sort of spam

Sorry for a long post - just don't know how to talk about your own project the way it wouldn't look like some sort of spam My go-to answer is to stick with the Shameless Self-Promotion Thread, but since you're making a real effort to join in the discussions elsewhere on the forums I think I'm probably okay with you being in here too.

Weasel, thanks. I thought to mention it on Shameless Self-Promotion Thread only first, but since there is a Crowdfunding thread, I thought it would be normal. Anyway I'm not here to promote my game (or not anymore I should say, cause I need to start everything from scratch again (which is good, really)). So... no more self-promotion from me .
