If there's one game that could have used a password feature, its this. Its a really good game, but with that amount of levels you're gonna need a whole day to beat it, unless you know the fastest route.

When I was a kid, before the internet existed, the urban legend was that KC was impossible to complete because it had so many levels. Which was regarded kinda like a feature. None of us ever did.
Years later I discovered some secret route to the last boss.

There's a way to reach the final boss from either the first or second level IIRC, which is kind of amusing. Must have been a testing feature.

This is one of those games that I could have sworn already had an article that had been on the site for years.

No mention of the Fleetway UK Sonic the Comic Kid Chameleon comic strip that had two stories they chaged how the mask designs looked a bit therem and this games plot was totally ripped off in Sword art online.

KC is the ur-"diarrhea-fart-sounding Genesis game". It's where I realized what people were talking about when they talked about Sega games and sounding terrible. Also, I don't even think I've come close to scratching this game. I did once warp to the last boss, but I couldn't figure out how to touch him... But reading that article made me realize that I'm not sure if I've seen half the levels. I think I've made it like 8 stages in.

The level order is so confusing that I think there are multiple maps floating around that explain where each of the warps take you.

Oh, man, those illustrations are cool. I've never seen the manual before so I didn't know it had anything like that in it. The Red Stealth one looks unfinished, though. Still, that cross-hatching...

The lack of mid-way points in the levels always turned me off of the game. I enjoy playing it, but nothing sucked more than having to replay a long, jump-heavy level over again if you died.

It felt a lot like an Amiga game or other Eurojank platformer to me, which is why I didn't care too much for it. It had a lot of really cool ideas but it got to a point where it didn't feel fun to play because it dragged on so long.

Once in a while I can get into those types and not mind the re-treading so much. KC is just too linear at times to warrant it in my eyes.

There was some good platforming but the length of the game really killed it; there's definitely a case of "too much of a good/bad thing".
