First, have a trailer.
.
I'm looking forward to this. Very much. I'm aware of the changes ID software went through (is any notable oldschool ID dev still working there?) and the development hell this project languished in for so long.
I've heard a lot of stuff about how they were going to return to basics by downplaying the horror element and focusing on combat. I really enjoyed Doom 3 (spent about 1500€ on a then state of the art gaming rig), but I feel almost no compulsion to ever play it again, while I still fire up the original (GzDoom with tons of mods) at least once a week. I know it's still early and it would be stupid to draw conclusions from a teaser trailer, but there's nothing here to suggest that it won't be anything but a direct sequel to Doom 3, intended to be played and then be disposed of. It's really the community and mod-ability (and, crucially, the open source aspect) that lifted Doom from 'that really cool early 90's game that defined how FPS games work' to all-time favourite with practically unlimited replay value. It's been established that id Software won't make their tech publicly available anymore once superseded commercially, chances are that it won't be a 'computer' game anymore but a console port, and chances are that it will feel like a Doom-themed Call of Duty.
There's a lot be sceptic about, but I'm still very much looking forward to it.
What are your opinions/fears/doubts/expectations?

I'm going to assume that it will be following the recent trend of FPS with intentionally retro design choices as a backlash against Call of Duty, ala the Shadow Warrior reboot and Wolfenstein: The New Order, I see no reason to assume it'll just be a "Doom-themed Call of Duty"
as a matter of fact it makes me really happy to see first person shooters intentionally moving away from the Call of Duty design model

I predict that Doom 4 will be a first person shooter. There will be demons.

I predict that Doom 4 will be a first person shooter. There will be demons. Surprise: It's actually based on the hit feature film. Pre-order now and get the exclusive mission where you get to play as The Rock.

I really like the way the reveal trailer looks, but it tells us virtually nothing about how Doom 4 will be. I hope it's not like Call of Duty, but I don't feel there's a ton of reason to suspect that it will be like Call of Duty.
Mostly, what I would like to see would be non-linear levels with secrets and traps to discover. That would make my day.

If I were a game publisher, I think I would like to make an expensive and utterly uninformative CG trailer for a game that I would later reveal to be an iOS Bejeweled clone.
This is probably why I am not a game publisher.

the only thing I ask from a new Doom is a reference to the Doom comic somewhere

Oh yeah, I'd also like for the soundtrack to feature metal music again. Having half the tracks be metal, and half the tracks be atmospheric, would be pretty cool. Somehow I doubt they'd do that though. Mostly, what I would like to see would be non-linear levels with secrets and traps to discover. That would make my day. I'd love this too, but most of the throwback FPSes (Serious Sam, Hard Reset, Shadow Warrior 2013) barely do this; I`m not sure what the chances of Doom 4 turning out like this are It is very sad

Rise of the Triad 2013 does that pretty well, a lot more so than a lot of retto-esque FPSes coming out lately. But does anybody ever talk about ROTT 2013? Nooooooooo!

Yeah, I honestly never got what was really "retro" about Painkiller, Hard Reset or Shadow Warrior. I've played early FPS games myself, and they're really nothing like them. I love 'em, but I'm not really seeing the throwback. A part of me can't help but think of them more like "Arcade FPS" on account of being structured more like a classic brawler.
