Dreamcast also has the best console version of Capcom vs SNK 2 (import only).

I won a DC for free off an online contest way back in '03, and since have built a quaint but decent library. Here are the 36 titles I own for it, and though I haven't bought a game for the system in 11 months, I plan to eventually get about 4 more.
Most of these games are quality with a few iffy titles smattered in (Maken X, Carrier, etc.) but for the most part, this is a decent list of games to look for:
Blue Stinger Cannon Spike Capcom vs. SNK Carrier Crazy Taxi D2 Dead or Alive 2 Dino Crisis Evolution: The World of Sacred Device Fatal Fury: Mark of the Wolves Giga Wing Grandia II Gunbird 2 House of the Dead 2, The Illbleed Jet Grind Radio Last Blade 2, The: Heart of the Samurai Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver Maken X Marvel vs. Capcom 2: The New Age of Heroes MDK 2 Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein Power Stone Quake III Arena Rayman 2: The Great Escape Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil: CODE: Veronica Sega Rally 2: Sega Rally Championship Shadow Man Shenmue Sonic Adventure Soul Calibur Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike Unreal Tournament Virtua Tennis Zombie Revenge

Blue Stinger really ain't all that. When people tell you how mediocre it is, they are right. It's mediocre as hell, and features one of he most strangest running animations I've ever seen. But I kind of like it for what it could have been. Don't fork out more than 5$ for it and make titles like Maken X a priority over it. The dreamcast houses the best version of Resident Evil 2, but if you've played before somewhere it's rely not worth the money. The PS2 version of CODE Veronica is an updated version, cheaper and not as hard to track down, so I recommend that instead.

The newest shmup released for the system Under Defeat is a vertical helicopter game that has the best explosions I have ever witnessed in a shmup. This game is superb!
Theres a brand new homebrew shmup called Last Hope which is scheduled to a Dreamcast release next month.
Border Down and Zero Gunner 2 are also some other great shmups for the system.
Oh ya, did I mention Ikaruga.

Oh em eff gee. Nobody's mentioned Toy Commander yet! That game is all kinds of kewl... even if some of the missions are banana-nuts frustrating. But any game that allows me to take down a dinosaur in a bunny suit, topple a lemur atop a block tower, or explode a piano is alright in my book. ;D
Ahhhhh, the DC... I love it, but I hate mine. It's been acting fubar for a long time now, and I'm still surprised I'm getting it to function. I'm wondering if I should repair its not-disc reading ass, or if I should just get a new one.

Never played Toy Commander. I should get on that. Also, is the DC version of RE 2 better than the GC version? My impression is that they were the same.

Lots of really great suggestions. Thanks.
What's special about the import DC version of Capcom vs. SNK 2? I already have the PS2 version. On that note, I've heard the DC version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is better than the PS2 one. I've only played it in arcades, so could you enlighten me?
I totally forgot about that controller converter. I'll make sure to get (at least) one of those.
I never cared for any Resident Evil before 4. I've played demos for 1-3 and Dino Crisis 1-2, but didn't like them.
Regarding Crazy Taxi and Power Stone 1 & 2. Should I bother with the 1s at all?
I have Street Fighter Alpha 3, SFIII Third Strike, Ikaruga, Rez, Jojo, CvS2, Space Channel 5 (1&2), Soul Reaver, and Spider-man for other consoles. Additionally, I have Quake 3 and Worms Armageddon, plus Unreal Tournament 2004 on my PC. I will however be getting the DC version of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure since that's my article's subject.
edit: Oh, and I have Soul Calibur II and III for GC and PS2 respectively.

Power Stone 1 and 2 are completely different games. The first is a great 1 on 1 game and is superior in gameplay, but is limited to 2 players. The second is good if you like a lot of craziness going on and you have 3 other friends to play 4-player mode with. It's more of a party game. Though Power Stone 1 is better, both are a lot of fun. I own MvC 2 on PS2 and DC and the DC version seems less pixelated and runs smoother. Both will fetch you a good chunk of change so do yourself a favor and just get it for the DC, just make sure you have a good joystick or controller converter.

CVS2: on DC the music doesn't cut off at the end of the round, and some other subtle changes. I can't say I'm an authority ports of this game, but people who have played the other versions all say the DC is the best port.

Virtual On was not mentioned yet. Now it has. If you have GC get the GC version of Skies of Arcadia and Ikagura. I'd like to be able to play my games in TATE mode without getting odd stares from my family and breaking my back lifting 25" TVs, thank you very much. The games also look nice in VGA mode too. Crap. That reminds me. I have Play-Asia's third party Samba de Amigo maracas, but I don't have the game yet. This must be remedied soon.
