Hi, does anyone know where I might be able to get the Japanese instruction manual for the NES game Crystallis?
Thanks Astralogic

Make sure you're searching by its Japanese title, God Slayer. Otherwise I don't know where you'd get just the manual outside of trolling eBay or trying to find a complete copy.

Do you just need pictures? I have the game and I'm pretty sure I've got the manual, don't have time to scan it all but I can snap a quick picture or two.

If so could you take some pics of the introduction, you know, the story, I don't need any of the actual "instructions" but still I would be grateful for as many clear pics as possible. Clear enough to read the text. And thanks a lot for this

Yes that's excellent thanks a lot!
Is that the whole story?

I wish you could get your hands on Japanese instruction manuals as easily as you can on (most) Western ones... I guess preserving them for posterity is not really considered to be an issue there.

Yes that's excellent thanks a lot! Is that the whole story? Yeah, those are the only pages that cover the story. There are a few others that discuss the different areas and give some hints.

Yeah, I've only really seen loose FC and SFC manuals listed on ebay a few times. I just grabbed the ones I needed for some of my loose carts, but I think I should do more.
I really should think about getting a new scanner. My old one died after I scanned like 200+ SFC and maybe 50 or so FC as well as a small selection of manuals for other JP retro consoles. And I've actually gotten more. However cleaning up the scans is a dreadful thought.
And then I think about my US collection and I'm sure I've got some gems in my PS2, GBA, DS, Wii collection and realize "that'd take awhile". The only consolation is that at least the newer gen is when printed instruction manuals have been phased out.

The only consolation is that at least the newer gen is when printed instruction manuals have been phased out. And that makes me a sad panda. I was shocked to notice just a while ago that Wii U games don’t even have game-specific manuals anymore, just a generic quickstart guide telling you to insert the disk and select the game from the Wii U menu to play in ten or so languages (;_;)

I would have given you 100 USD to scan the whole thing...

Honestly I'd feel bad taking money for a manual scan!
The issue is more finding the time to do it...but I'll see what I can do.
