Wow, I'm suprised this ended up being finished before Aeon Genesis's translation of the original famicom version. I can't wait to play this!

I've been playing this for past few days and getting really into it. Could use a manual to explain some things though like the spells and fusion mechanics though.

Is there a translation of If...? You would think with its tenuous connection to Persona that it would be getting rushed down the pipeline.

I was hoping for some translation of the earliest games of the Megami Tensei series. I'm a bit disappointed the NES version of the first was dropped, but I guess it's not a gigantic loss. I still would've liked to experience it in a way, though.
Hearing news of If... makes me happy too, and I'll certainly be looking forward to that one.

Megami Tensei I isn't dropped, just pushed back, for whatever reason. (I'd stick with Kyuuyaku imo, just for the save system)

Oh, really? People had been putting it differently so I had thought it was dropped. I'll still be looking forward to it all the same, save system or no, since sometimes I like experiencing the original versions of certain games too, just to see what they were like in comparison.

Why would it been dropped? Its being translated by a different group as far as I know.

There was a group that postet news in February about Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei being as good as ready, but them apparently wanting to wait for October to release it. So we'll see.
It's Gideon Zhi who gave up on his DDS:MT translation in favor of Kyuuyaku, because the original was such a bitch to hack and he doesn't like how that version plays anyways.

Ahhhhh, okay. I thought I had been getting things all mixed up for a while there, thanks for clarifying.

This is amazing news! I remember seeing a tweet by Gideon around the beginning of the year about this. Didn't think it would be finished so quickly. Very glad to hear that it's ready.

Megami Tensei is a really great game, but like Shin Megami Tensei very tiresome for the completionist. As a completeionsit myself, I want to explore every single corner of the game, so this is gonna take a lot of time. And I'm quite early in the game (Valhalla)...
