COMING SEPTEMBER 20th, 8PM CST/9 PM EST: GAME CLUB 199X PRESENTS: PS1: THE EARLY YEARS So. In 10 days, it'll be the anniversary of the US launch of the Playstation 1, and this December will be the system's 20th anniversary. I'd say that's cause for celebrating, wouldn't you? See, here's a thing you might not know about me. The PS1 is without a doubt, my favorite console of all time. There's just so much variety on the thing that literally any possible genre you could want to play has you covered. From well-loved classics like Metal Gear Solid... To weird FMV crap like Fox Hunt... (Fuck Mega Man, why wasn't this dude in MvC3?)The PS1 has you covered. But we're not here to discuss that. Y'see, we're actually here to discuss the PS1's launch lineup for its American release in 1995. There's a lot of good stuff in there, a promising start even early on! This is early, all from 1995, back when games came in those tall cardboard boxes. I love those. SO LET'S GET DOWN TO DETAILS. THE STREAM STARTS AT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20TH, 8PM CST/9 PM EST, I'll go ahead and put up the list of games we'll be covering, and just like the last couple of streams, we'll allow one special guest per game to hop in Skype and hang with the host! Up on the list is: Air Combat Battle Arena Toshinden Gunner's Heaven Jumping Flash - cambertian Lemmings 3D Loaded Novastorm Off-World Interceptor Extreme Raiden Project - Mr. Argent Rayman - Tarsier Road Rash Ridge Racer Street Fighter The Movie Tekken - Sotenga Total Eclipse Twisted Metal Warhawk Wipeout Hope to see you then!

No Nekketsu Oyako?
I still remember that being the very first PS1 game I saw mentioned in some gaming magazine or another (likely EGM).
I know that game didn't have an American release, but neither did Gunner's Heaven (Though I honestly wish it had; Europe got it, but NA didn't. I felt taunted when Axel and Ruka showed up in Wild ARMs 2.).
Philosoma, however, I think was a US launch title, but I'm not entirely sure.

I have little-to-no experience with the PS1 and its library, so sadly I'll not be able to collaborate with the stream except for an in-chat comment or two. But I'll watch it anyway!

I'm missing a few RPGs, Japanese games, and other stuff, just to keep it down to the most streamable stuff. Sign me up for Jumping Flash, please! All right, but you may have to share your spot with Wildweasel. He's a huge fan.

I never realized Lemmings 3D had a Playstation version. I have it on DOS, but it's been forever since I played it seriously.

I nominate "Nothing can stop Mr Domino!". Saw the Cadiccarus's video of it and it looks like a Playstation game that people need to talk about a lot more.
Dont know if I'll be hanging out in the Stream though, since time differences and all that, but we'll see.

I've got a few things to say about the Raiden Project, of course, being a fan of the series! I've got another friend who's a big fan - ought I see if he might be interested too?

I'd like to take a moment to give you all a sneak peek of what you're in for. This is the back cover to Off-Road Interceptor Extreme. See that third feature? They're not kidding. All the cutscenes MST3K themselves. You can't turn it off. I've also tweaked the game list. Remember, though, I'm keeping this to games that were released in the US (Or Europe, for Gunner's Heaven) in 1995. I dropped Mortal Kombat 3, since we have too many fighting games on the list, and Street Fighter: The Movie is the more obscure, and thus, more notable of the 2D fighters on the list. I was going to replace it with Doom, but that didn't work, so I put Road Rash on instead.

I grew up with Rayman's Jaguar port, I'll join in on that.

I do believe that the original Rayman was originally made for the Jaguar. How far the franchise has come! At any rate, I'd love to join for the Road Rash part, but unfortunately I have to work that night. Hope everyone has a good time, though.
