I have been on a rpg binge recently, and need a break from these game's drama. They are way too serious, even if they are good. I have Holy Umbrella, Mario RPG, Mario & Luigi, Rejoice, Tomato Adventure, Hanjuku Eiyuu, Hanjuku Eiyuu 2, Lady Stalker, Mother, Mother 2, and probably a few others. Are there any other "wacky" rpgs, emulatable or otherwise? And what about "wacky" games of other genres that are not mentioned at HG101? I always prefer humor in a game to a serious plot. I have more "wacky" games of other genres than I could possibly mention, but would always like to learn about more.

If you haven't bought and played Psychonauts, do so now!

I wouldn't exactly classify Psychonauts as an RPG. Sure, there's the rank-up system, but that's about all there is.
An RPG without drama? How about The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang for SNES? And if you don't mind PC games, go look up Anachronox - from the guy that made the Commander Keen games (Tom Hall).
"Some guy managed to set himself on fire. We're blocking this road off until he puts himself out."

Disgaea is kinda wacky RPG
And for wacky games of other genres you can't go wrong with Wario Ware, Parodius and Katamari Damacy. The people who made those games obviously smoked some weed.

I am really enjoying Contact for the DS. Metal Saga for the PS2 has some very goofy stuff in it, and it's a great RPG to boot.

Check out RoboTrek on SNES (US). It got above average reviews and is known for its off-beatness. You create robots to fight and I hear the translation is at times amusing

The Shadow Hearts Trilogy for the PS2 are RPG's that are really good and have some of the craziest crap you'll ever find in an RPG. Check them out if you can find them.

And noone mentioned Nintendo's Mother series. It's definetely unusual and quite funny at times.

Actually, ZZZ already mentioned them. I'd suggest Thousand Arms, simply because you make your weapons stronger by dating all the girls in your party.

God Hand. I know it's not an RPG, but you should buy it anyway. It's wacky.

Not a RPG, but nothing beats the wackyness of this... that game is way bizarre-o! Between this, Wonder 3, Gun Frontier and X-Multiply/Image Fight, Pulirula was my least favorite though

Get Great Greed for Gameboy if you can find it. Its one of the most solid rpgs for that system. Download the rom and try it out you wont be disapointed.
