www.hardcoregaming101.net/puzzleboy/puzzleboy.htmAtlus' series of Sokoban-style puzzle games starring vegetables, better known in English as Kwirk, Spud's Adventure and Amazing Tater. Also the subject of a minigame in Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne.

Hey, I know this series. (: Haven't played much of them, but intend to eventually as I'm a fan of these type of puzzle games (excluding the Sokoban series). It's very nice to see this series featured on HG101.
I read somewhere that three of the pro levels are impossible to beat in Puzzle Boy PCE. Not sure if this is actually true, though.
Will there be any clones included in the article at some point? I can think of at least one game by Telenet Japan, released for the MSX2 and PC88: Mr. Maze (めいず君)

It was released a few months before Puzzle Boy, and also developed by Atlus staff.

Goddammit, I remember that cartoon show! Never knew it was actually based on real franchises!

Atlus should really consider putting them on 3DS virtual console, didn't know there was more to this series.

Don't suppose you know the staff that worked on the puzzle boy games? It'll be interesting to see if any had worked on the Mr Maze game. Maze-kun Manualwww.sendspace.com/file/6eahvtMAZE-KUN STAFF

Atlus should really consider putting them on 3DS virtual console, didn't know there was more to this series. Too bad Atlus doesn't want to put anything on VC except SMT games (which means Japan-only). Then again, they didn't have many original IPs. That, maybe this and I heard Trauma Center. Is Etrian theirs as well? I noticed the PCE version is one of the few games in the "company misspells their own name" category.

This one would work well as a iOS/Android title.

The programmers, graphic designers, and musicians are from Telenet. The front cover of the manual says it was developed in cooperation with Atlus. I noticed the PCE version is one of the few games in the "company misspells their own name" category. The PC Engine version was developed by Telenet.

Is Etrian theirs as well? They own Trauma Center, Etrian Odyssey, Radiant Historia, Growlanser, and maybe the Vanillaware stuff they publish. I am positive they still own Power Instinct (desperately needs a collection!) too. Some backlog they could bring over: Kwirk, Rockin' Kats, BlaZeon, Kartia, Trap Gunner, Snowboard Kids (if N64 comes that is), Thousand Arms. They seem to be good with digital on PSN lately, frequent sales and I think all of their PS2 stuff they own is available. Why not other consoles is a mystery.

Because before SMT came around they weren't really that financially stable. So they generally ignore anything before SMT, including Megami Tensei 1 and 2.
