The map has been updated! It now covers all of Eldon Mine. Not sure where to go from here. DrakeHurst Castle seems like the most obvious choice, but the Catacombs seem interesting if a bit intimidating.

Here are more tips for those playing: - Most characters carry items which can be traded for. There seem to be items that are purely for trading, too, such as the gold bars. However, they're in limited supply, so trade wisely!
- Some characters drop their inventory upon death. This helps when trading as you can recover traded goods. It's not always consistent, however, so be sure to test it out before killing them!
- Be sure to find the rope in Eldon Mine before descending into the Catacombs, otherwise you are screwed!
Still haven't figured out how sleeping and fatigue works in the DOS version. The bar is getting pretty high, so I assume I'll just drop dead at some point. :p

if anyone's curious, here's Obitus running on some actual iron! The machine pictured is a Zenith SupersPORT laptop with an 8086, 640k and CGA - what would have been low-end by the game's standards. It scales surprisingly well! And here's some video of the SupersPORT doing it's thing! This is my first time playing the game, so it doesn't go well.

That's probably the best thing to come out of this thread so far.

Sorry, not related to Obitus, but related to the discussion midway through the thread on EGA/CGA.
Not sure about this game, but a lot of CGA games were meant to be played via composite video connection to an NTSC TV. The TV would end up blurring adjacent colors together to create "new" colors... the result is that a lot of these CGA games display "16" colors over composite (look very close to EGA).
Some people have started updating Mobygames with CGA composite screens (Ultima II and III are two examples that come to mind), and I think there are even some DOSBOX distributions that emulate composite CGA now.
