club2.nintendo.com/program-notice/I didn't see it coming quite this quickly. I better get to work registering shit. I'm going to guess the new program's going to be digital rewards only or something to that effect. It's a shame, this was a nice bonus back when it was good, and they've still had some decent stuff for registering games after that, like the soundtracks or whatever.

Sad this will end, I started registering my games back in the GCN era. Only thing I ever got from it was the Game and Watch Ball replica, which is awesome. I hope the replacement for this is a bit more fleshed out and a bit more the same in different regions.
I got quite some stars (European here) saved up. I was going to get the Super Mario 3D World Soundtrack CD, but it was no longer available by the time I got enough stars...
I'll probably get one of 'em cases for 3DS/DS games, which, now I check on the site is something they don't have anymore...maybe I'll get some eShop credit if I have enough left over.
On that note, do the Wii/DSi points card work for 3DS/Wii U? Probably not.

Overtime North America's physical selection was ditched in favor of digital games. However, the select tend to be rotated and games people don't usually get excited for, I kinda expected they ended it. But I didn't know it was all the regions. As far as rewards go I have the Mario characters figure. I have a lot of codes to use up. I just kept them in case I needed them.

Club Nintendo has been winding down in North America for a while. It's been a couple of years since they added any exciting physical rewards. I'm curious about the part of the notice that says: "to give our members the best opportunity to use their Coins, we will add dozens of downloadable games and a limited quantity of exclusive reward items to the rewards catalog in February." I'm going to register all of my eligible opened games now, because I think those "exclusive reward items" might disappear quickly.

Hopefully whatever the replacement is will also be available in Finland. I've gotten bunch of codes over the years, but they're useless to me.

Going straight to plushies.

Not long ago, I thought that I have so many new games that I should go and join Club Nintendo and get the points. Then I found out that this is not possible in Finland. Finland has its own Nintendo Klubi, but what I understood was that it does not have any real benefits for its members. Sucks.

Club Nintendo ended up being less of a club for hardcore Nintendo fans and more of a go-into-GameStop-and-steal-codes-out-of-boxes eBay scheme.

Is this for Club Nintendo of America or for Europe as well?

All of them: North America, Europe, Australia, Japan, probably any other ones that offered any sort of reward as well.

Can't say I didn't see this coming. Club Nintendo is a shadow of its former self. But I've gotten a handful of neat things over the years. The Mario hat (that's not to be used as a hat), the Super Mario Bros. figure, the Mario-themed hanafuda deck, a mushroom tote bag that's holding a bunch of my portable stuff nicely, and other odds and ends that I've mostly forgotten about. I really love hanafuda and the Mario-themed deck goes nicely with my traditional Napoleon deck from Nintendo, so that's probably my favorite item.

I regret not getting the hanafuda cards. The replica Game and Watch was cool too.

Well, the most interesting thing I could get with my remaining points was one of the 3DS game card cases, so I jumped on that...still have 130 points left though, and nothing interesting to get with them.

I picked up Grill-Off With Ultra-Hand. It's probably pretty crummy, but I figured if I don't get it now I never will get a chance to, and it looked ok enough that "this cost nothing" was a path I was willing to take.
Curious what the story on platinum rewards will be for this year, nearly there.

Platinum resets in July, doesn't it? Going to guess that there won't be any this time around.
