Here it is! ... More or less everywhere, and although I understand that the gamers who wanted a 3DS XL did buy one years ago, I'm pretty confident some of us took the plunge and bought one. What is your verdict? Is the 3D really more stable with a larger sweet spot? Is the micro right nub really usable? How did you transfer your data to the new card? How do the buttons feel, etc. etc ad infinitum. I'm really curious about that one. Let's see if this debriefing is good, then?
That New 3DS, how is it? Don't be afraid to Speak your truth, guise!
EDIT: Oops, that was a bit premature I've been told. Worldwide release is the 13th. Well, at least the thread is made...

Mine should arrive at the end of the week - I meant to pick up one here on the Aussie launch day, but I kinda went retro-crazy and bought a GameCube with a bunch of games instead. I'll chime in when my Monster Hunter 4 Edition turns up

Tempted to get one, but I think I'll hold out until it's clear whether a regular sized version hits the US or not.

I'm doing the exact same thing, or atleast I'm trying to. I know I'm I close to giving in and as soon as I do go out and buy it, I'll hear that the regular one is being brought over.

In the meantime... ...I had forgotten about that Amiibo thing, which is quite nebulous to me.. But super Stable 3D talks to me... A LOT. So many games that will finally really be enjoyable in 3D... Could finally unleash the full potential of 3D on the 3DS, and I'm all for that, even if I know that players who dismiss 3D as a gimmick will continue to do so, sadly.

3D was cool and useful in both A Link Between Worlds and in Mario 3D Land. But other than that I usually keep the effect turned off.
I'm waiting for another big game announcement before I take the plunge here though. If Nintendo announces a new original Zelda exclusively for the N3DS I shall get one. That would be the fourth (!) Zelda for the 3DS. Unheard of. But really cool, since they're all great (even though two are remakes).
I'm gonna pick up Xenoblade immediately even if I don't get the device for another couple of months. It's a cool game to just...have.

the 3d makes the already crap screens look even worse It has the opposite effect on me. Screendoor effect, aliasing, low resolution: everything looks better with the 3D on. But yeah the screen is really cheap-looking.

I almost always have the 3D effect on. The main exception is Pokemon where the game lags, and Shantae because what the fuck

I agree; outside of the those and the Sega 3D Ages games it's kind of pointless and ends up making the game look worse in most cases, but to each their own. They had copies of the Labia Majora New 3DS XLs and the collectors' edition games at Fry's, but I ended up getting there just in time to be the first not to get anything. I don't have a huge emotional attachment to Zelda so it's not like it's gonna kill me, but it would've been nice to get them. Also, fuck scalpers. Still going to get one of the systems later today; I guess it's good that the black one's the unpopular color because that's what I was gonna go for anyway.

I want one if only because the 3D viewable from any angle, means my kids won't sneak up behind me and turn it off because they can't see what I'm doing.

Well, EB Games fucked my weekend up royally, if you'll pardon the expression. I haven't got anything from them for years, but I really wanted the Monster Hunter 4 Edition New 3DS XL, and they were the only ones still with stock. So I pre-ordered online, paid for fully and all that. It launches tomorrow, and my order has only just left Brisbane today. What the hell? Everywhere else makes sure that if a launch day falls on a Saturday, it's with you Friday. Never again, EB. Now I have to wait till Monday. I WAS hoping to get some Monster Hunter 4 in, but nup. I go back to work Tuesday.
I know, first world problems and all that, but farrrrk, my Action Replay 4 Plus from Play-Asia just arrived almost overnight, and that's from Hong Kong! My 3DS has been sitting in that bloody Brisbane warehouse for ages, and still it's gonna be late. ARGH!

Actually that's a good point too - on games like Kid Icarus: Uprising and Star Fox 64 that'd be a great feature. Particularly the on-foot levels in Uprising. Gaaaa! It's impossible to stay in the sweet spot while manipulating the DS that way. I have high hopes for Uprising, because it's a very, very polished game (that sadly went a bit under the radar it seems...)

I think the big question for the New 3DS,for me at least, is how's the nub?
