Ooh, never got too far in Brain Lord, but it's a nice one! I wonder if anyone will cover King Colossus at some point, the games are somewhat similar.

Brain Lord and Mystic Ark are both excellent, and I have a feeling that even 7th Saga would have been good had the people in charge of localizing it not screwed up the stat growths.
Still hoping that at some point somebody explains what the hell was going on with the Mystic Ark PS1 game, and if/how it ties in with the rest of the Remeer games... (Brain Lord being the only one of the four I've managed to finish)
Enix seemed fond of publishing loosely-connected sets of games from their constituent developers...

I always liked BrainLord. It's a shame the developers couldn't finish it.

I'm fairly sure Mirror's Edge came out in 2008, not 2003.

Yes! I've been looking forward to this since Neo Rasa mentioned it.
Never seen the Japanese artwork before. So I was a bishie the whole time.
Hm, I think I just noticed a glaring omission. Aren't the fairy companions in Brain Lord worth mentioning? Besides being another type of item to collect, they provide the player with all sorts of special effects, and they each level up individually. It's the closest the game has to party members from a gameplay perspective. Zelda's fairies are so lame in comparison.
Maybe I missed it, but wasn't there supposed to be more on the game's sidequests? I always wasted a bunch of time in Toronto's hidden arena.

I always dismissed this game because it looked so generic. (Maybe the reason why it's so overlooked?) I guess I should try it some time...

I'm not sure which part of S-E's site the writer was looking at, but the JP site lists the game's correctly at Brain Lord. (the NA site, however, couldn't care less about such an old console. I mean even under the PlayStation category the only game listed is FF7, and they don't care to even get the original release date right)

Really nice to see an article for this go up, and even nicer yet to see a paragraph devoted to Sachiko Kamimura in it (although her name has been misspelled). I learned of her through seeing the Japanese cover of the game (I don't own a copy of it, though; just the US version), and I fell in love with her unique style. She has a way of making things look so fluid, as if it's gonna run down the page like water, and her coloring is often so pearly and iridescent. Her art reminds me of the inside of a shell. I have her Gurdian art book from 1996 (going off of the katakana, they were clearly going for "Guardian", but "Gurdian" is how they romanized it, haha), and it's got a number of her Brain Lord pieces (maybe all the art she did for the game, I dunno). If anybody wants pics for the article, I could probably be talked into digging out my scanner.
