Not much for me to choose from. Resident Evil series and Castlevania Symphony of the Night (Taking out Bloody Zombies and Flying Zombies are some of my favorite death scenes in the game.)

IMHO Left 4 Dead 2 is *the* best zombie game ever made, unless you're more of a slow-zombie kind of guy. The AI director ensures varied gameplay, the bestiary has a wide variety of threats, and there's tons of different gametypes.
Killing Floor 1 comes close in my book for sheer wacky factor. LOADS O'MONEH!

Stubbs The Zombie remains the superior zombie game. Amazing there just aren't even attempts at making Zombie Infection themed games outside of some shonky iOS titles and have baked unfinished unity prototypes.

Related note: I wish I had had high-speed internet and a PS2 back in the day so that I could have played the RE: Outbreak games. Even if the execution is wonky those games REALLY look like they were ahead of their time.

My favorite zombie game would probably be a Resident Evil game, like maybe RE3 or REmake. Dead Rising is a good competitor, but I find that series' clunkiness to be rather aggravating.

The Organ Trail is pretty fun. It's a cute take on the original game with a zombie twists that actually adds a lot of neat mechanical twists. I replay it every once in awhile.

The Organ Trail is pretty fun. It's a cute take on the original game with a zombie twists that actually adds a lot of neat mechanical twists. I replay it every once in awhile. Most memorable run of that game I played I wound putting down one of my tripmates when they got infected, the other two because I was running low on supplies (I had to! It was either a swift death by bullet or EVERYONE dying a slow, horrible death by hunger or something else!), and I FINALLY made it to the safe zone with my own infection gauge dangerously high and the car was only being held together with duct tape and desperation. And THEN I still had to fuel up the door generator at the safe zone while under attack from incoming swarms.

Dark Souls, technically everyone is a zombie, including the player.

My No1 favourite zombie games franchise is House of the Dead including the spin-offs like Type of the Dead (did you know they released another one at 2013 for Steam based on Overkill? I didn't until now.) and Zombie Revenge, one of the most underrated arcades/Dreamcast games with nice beat 'em up/shooter mix (one of the main characters also appears at Project X Zone).

House of the Dead and related titles for me as well. I find it more fun to blast hoards arcade style than to deal with them survival horror style.

Resident Evil counts, too, but DR is more about zombies in general without the other creatures that RE has.

Dead Rising for me, I spent hours just dicking around that shopping mall.
I was sorely disappointed to learn 3 sucks shit a few months ago.
