This is the first I've heard that Pesina actively denies being fired for his involvement. How intriguing. Gonna go read that Polygon article now. (Are people hating on Polygon? Can't imagine why.) The copy of the official handbook at Gamefaqs provides astonishingly detailed backstories for each of the Time Killers. They're probably more entertaining than the actual game. www.gamefaqs.com/genesis/586539-time-killers/faqs/1084"amatueristic" --> Did it mean "amateurish"? "According to urban legend (though dismissed by John Tobias and Daniel Pesina, led to Daniel being fired from Midway." --> seems to miss a part. Made some edits. Is Wulf supposed to be Arthur on the first page? Also, "It plays closely enough to the arcade version, but with the one thing that made the game look particularly interesting removed" - Does this mean the Genesis version was lacking decapitations?

This really was a red letter week for gaming. FFVII Remake, The Last Guardian, Shenmue III...and the Time Killers article was finally turned into something coherent! Nice work, Bobinator!

An old theater near me (built in the 70's, I think, one of the first big multiplexes of the area) had a Time Killers machine, well into the new millennium. Never saw a single person playing it. I think it was still there when the theater shut down a few years ago to make way for a new modern style theater with stadium seating and digital 3D and higher ticket prices and what not.

I feel like for the time that it came out, Time Killers wasn't all that awful for an arcade machine.
But I also think I only say this because the area that I lived in never had any sort of tournament scene to speak of, so the bar was pretty low.

Considering how adept you folks are with Simpsons references around these parts, how has there not been a single mention of Bonestorm in this thread yet? Minor corrections: Arthur (character image caption) vs. Wülf (described in article and shown in health bar) You see what we did there? Mostly armess? You now have buttons for your front and back arms, At least the game is kind of enough to warn you if the next hit will put you in a dizzy state or not. ("Buy me Bonestorm or go to hell!")

I kinda thought the old article was more representative of the hot mess that was Time Killers, but it's good to have a piece that stays on an even keel.

Arthur (character image caption) vs. Wülf (described in article and shown in health bar) I'll just go change it. Fixed the other ones too. (I regret missing those.)

I think you're about the only person I've heard say that about this site (that and the author of the original Time Killers/Bloodstorm piece, who also did Snacks'N Jaxson. Was "Kevin Christman" even his real name? Also, in the new article Leif has been misspelled as "Lief". I think the character is supposed to be based on Leif Ericson the legendary explorer, at least in the name.

Time Killers was most likely like Fatal Fury 1; in development at the same time as the games many people compare them to.
