It was a super gritty-looking third-person brawler that was in development as an early Wii title at one point in time. It was showcased to the public once, and then assumed to have been canceled after that. This video however, shows that there was a lot more going on behind that game's development than one would have initially thought, though... it's not too surprising that it still never came together.

I remember this game from older articles of Unseen64. Such a shame it was cancelled. I hope it will be resurrected as a 3DS or NX game.

And here is a new video from Tamaki with more interesting details:
Now I can see why it was cancelled by Nintendo (too focused at expensive CG scenes and repetitive gameplay) but still I don't see what was racist about it (since one of the reasons for being cancelled according to Nintendo is that it was racist).
I hope another company will make a game inspirited by Project H.A.M.M.E.R., just like Allison Road was made inspirited by the cancelled game Silent Hills.

The first video was saying that the development team was accusing Nintendo of being racist, not that the game itself was racist in any way.
Anyways, the new video is interesting to see. This game really was a huge mess all around.

Probably American/Japanese corporate culture clashes.

The claim that the video makes is that the Japanese staff ignored any decisions that weren't from a Japanese staff member.

Weird. Nintendo usually had good partnership with western developers like Rare and Retro Studios.
