That's one of the gayest games I've ever seen and I love it.

That's one of the gayest games I've ever seen and I love it. Needs more context-relevant quotes from Schwarzeneggar's "Commando". "I DON'T NEED THE GIRL!"

eh, just one of the billion Rambo clones that spawned since Rambo became a marketing juggernaut to kids in the 80s. By that I mean anything featuring bare-chested musclemen in military one-man-army situations.
Though I admit that the fact that all of the heroes are shirtless while the bad guys are practically covering their upper body with BDUs and body armor is pretty amusing. Bodybuilding action hero cliches > real world, baby!

Always wondered why there was no 2-player mode for the Geny version, should've guessed it was a trimmed arcade port. Now I know.

I've given this a playthrough via Taito Legends (Which seems to have stopped working on Windows 7 for me recently ), it seemed fairly generic. Never really got a "Gay" vibe from the game myself though *shrugs*

This always felt more like an updated version of Crime City to me, more than anything else.

Crime City is more Rolling Thunder/Shinobi to me, but they all run in the same circle.
Incidentally going through all the Taito collections, it's really baffling that Crime City is in none of them. It's one of the few Taito games I remember seeing regularly when I was a kid. Usually when it's left off it's because of technical issues (inability to do a decent three screen emulation of Darius or The Ninja Warriors) or licensing stuff, which I think may have been a problem for Chase HQ, but that one does appear on later Japanese collections.

The Chase HQ series and Crime City both star Tony Gibson and Raymond Broady, maybe Taito just hates those characters.
