www.hardcoregaming101.net/masterlu/masterlu.htmFinally carried over from the Guide to Classic Graphic Adventures, a point-and-click adventure based on Robert Ripley's columns about strange and bizarre historical facts (or fictions) from the 1930s.

This was one of the first adventure games I've ever played. It was part of a 10 game compilation box that also included other adventure games Kyrandia 3 and Death Gate, but also games like Steel Panthers and Pinball 3D-VCR.
Haven't played this one in years though. I remember having trouble getting it to run on dosbox.

I remember PC Gamer magazine here in the US was really into this game, they did a cover feature and it got pretty good reviews, but I didn't try it until years later, when writing the book. I was pretty underwhelmed though, at the time the digitized graphics probably looked really good, but from a design and writing standpoint, I felt the whole thing was done far better in the Broken Sword games (which came later, of course).

I remember getting stuck for *years* in germany on this one. That all locations kept being accessible didn't help. Almost as confusing as Azrael's Tear which i eventually beat (but that is a better game. *Article hint*)
