The other day I thought to myself, "I probably own most of the Japanese-developed Dreamcast games that were released in the west," and now I want to find/make a list to check. Does anybody have suggestions for resources to help me that would be easier than going through the list of Dreamcast games on Wikipedia and manually determining whether each developer is Japanese? (and listed accurately)
The Wikipedia list is also less-than-ideal because it only includes the English names of games, so I get excited to learn about new games that turn out to just be Super Speed Racing and Aerodancing. (all of my Dreamcast games are Japanese except for Bomberman Online, Alienfront Online, Seaman, and Typing of the Dead.)

I dunno 'bout wikipedia, but the closest service I can think of is GameFAQs' regional release list.. This of course doesn't account for imports, or the rare title released abroad but not domestically. It's a more narrow list, fwiw.

I just compiled one with the help of SegaRetro's list of Dreamcast games. This list also includes games that, while developed in Japan, saw release in the US and/or Europe first (such as UFC and WWF Royal Rumble), or a few that didn't even see a Japanese release at all (Alien Front Online and Bomberman Online) pastebin.com/EfNg4j1CEnjoy!

As long as you own Project Justice, you're a good man.

Hey, this is great! Thanks a lot! With 111 games, the list is a little longer than I expected. Almost all of the games where I wasn't sure off the top of my head whether they'd gotten a western release apparently did, and there are a few games like Cool Boarders that I didn't realize were made in Japan. I think I only have about two-thirds of these... (including Project Justice)

I was originally gonna link to the SegaRetro list, but there were a few inaccuracies with that, so I compiled this instead.

After all these years, I'm as shocked as I was fourteen years ago that Sammy released Death Crimson OX but not Guilty Gear X in the US.

After counting more carefully, I have all but 28 of the 112 games (I think Virtua Cop 2 should be added to the list). On the one hand, I could probably get the remaining games pretty cheap, but on the other, I'm really only interested in playing a couple of them...
Here's what I'm missing: Star Gladiator 2: Nightmare of Blisten (Plasma Sword) Samba de Amigo (1st version) Death Crimson OX Illbleed Climax Landers (Time Stalkers) Sports Jam Super Runabout Shutokou Battle 2 Power Jet Racing 2001 Berserk: Sennen Teikoku no Taka Hen Soushitsu Hana no Shou Kidou Senshi Gundam Gaiden Colony no Ochita Chide Lodoss Shima Senki: Jashin Kourin Aero Dancing Aero Dancing F Imperial no Taka Fighter of Zero (Iron Aces) Jet Coaster Dream D2 Ringu Last Blade 2 King of Fighters ‘99 Evolution Biohazard 2 Biohazard 3 Golf Shiyouo Ganbare Nippon! Olympic 2000 Cool Boarders Burrrn! Ultimate Fighting Championship WWF Royal Rumble World Series Baseball 2K1
