Huh, Power Dolls got localized? This is news to me. I gotta look into that. That's another series I'd love to see covered on here.

and that one fighting game whose name I can't currently remember and don't want to Google around for since I'm at work. Metal & Lace?

Metal and Lace and its sequel IIRC were the fighting games. But yeah plenty of PC game magazines would have full page ads for all kinds of Japanese adventure and even some hentai games.
I do think the only time Princess Maker would have made an impact in the US is if the DS game came out here in 2008 or whatever.

I could've sworn an English version of this was game for the Sega Saturn reviewed by Francesca Reyes for Ultra Game Players a few issues before its run was over. My magazines are long gone, but I remember thinking that this game looked pretty weird as a kid and was surprised about it even existing (much less being a sequel).
Can anyone verify this?
If my memory is correct then I guess it's another instance of a game being ready to ship and being abandoned. Sad.

Scroll towards the bottom of this page for a list of every ending picture: princessmaker.wikia.com/wiki/Princess_Maker_2Not all of the descriptions are complete, but most of the endings are very simple, with one illustration and a sentence or two just saying what career you ended up with.

I couldn't at the time because I don't really have a way to watch it right now. Not even sure if it's in print anymore, if it even was for western regions. If you are talking about the anime it got a few legit releases in the U.S. (singles, and a box set), and it was fansubed a long time before that. I've owned the singles and eventually replaced them with the box set. I am sure it is out of print but doesn't seem to be hard to find. It's actually, a really cute show if you ever get around to it.

It was definitely an interesting idea. Would have been better with some of the creepier bits filed off, but it was made by animu nerds, so. ("NEEDS to be mentioned"? Nah, you WANTED to mention it, so you did.)

The connections to the series proper are incredibly minor and not really worth the cash I'd have to pay out to cover (pretty much all off the article money I've made here has had to go to bills and gas, I wish I was joking).

Quality of fansubs varies from group to group. Some *are* better than pro jobs simply because they have more time to revise and edit to their heart's content. Pro jobs can sometimes be rushed because they must meet release dates. But Yucie was an underrated show. Not something to throw down big money on, but worth watching, definitely. Works as a sort of "b-calibre" alternative to the superior Princess Tutu which was released a little earlier I believe.

No, fansubs are worse in every way, except maybe to subs on Toei shows. It's mainly the terrible vocab choices that come from being a frequent /a/ browser that unironically likes garbage light novel shows.
