I never thought of it as being all that Clumsy.
I just always felt a little bit weird about the translation.
"Lead Phoenix" being "Reid Phoenix" in the voice acting.
"Sho Amabane" being "Shou Armabarnay" in the voice acting.
Nothing being done with Neal Belmondo, the little black kid you rescue, who it seemed like they had plans for (aside from Iria Klein, the girl you rescue in the last mission).
Burning Rangers was a WONDERFUL game, but it suffered from typical Sonic Team rank syndrome.

Only being able to unlock characters for particular levels always felt kind of dumb to me.

I came to this article expecting the theme playing on loop. Someone dropped the ball.

I love and hate the Burning Rangers track in All Stars Racing. Its hard but very cool track but I hate it because it just gives me the painful reminder that I cannot afford this game. We need M2 to work their magic with this game and grab those Working Design localizations while at it.

Burning Rangers was a WONDERFUL game, but it suffered from typical Sonic Team rank syndrome. I also believe that Burning Rangers is a wonderful game (it's probably my favorite title on the Saturn) but I tried taking into consideration the perspective of people who aren't really familiar with early 3D platformers or even Sonic Team games. Trying to move around with the jetpack without a second analog stick to control the camera can be tricky at times, especially in level 3 where there is no gravity. I'm used to to these kind of controls because I love playing early 3D platformers (they have some sort of charm to them) but I feel that a lot people would get frustrated at the game if they never really played these kinds of games before. I asked some people to try the game out before writing the article, most of which mostly played games on modern consoles and they found getting around corners and reaching higher levels to be a little difficult.

I loved(LOVED) this game at launch, and still adore my copy, but yeah... time has not been kind to it.

Good but perhaps a bit overly critical article. I didn't have too much trouble getting through this one a few years ago despite never having played it back in the day. I think it holds up roughly as well as the early Tomb Raider games.
Only things I really disliked were the swimming segments and the soundtrack.
