So I'm a fairly recent RE convert having first gotten into the series with Revelaiton and 7 but now I'm all in. I've played REmake, the new remake of 2, 4, and now I'm playing Nemesis on PSN and loving it. I first played 4 a year ago and it became one of my favorite games ever, but I totally understand why some begrudge it for taking the series in a different direction. My question now is, what should I play after Nemesis? Code: Veronica X (PS4 port) seems the logical next step but I've heard some people are mixed on it. Is it worth playing since I really like the classic games? I should also probably play the original version of 2 at some point. But as far as classic RE goes, what is there besides 1-3, the remakes, and Code: Veronica?

Resident Evil's sister series Dino Crisis and Onimusha , of course! Oh, of course! Forgot about Dino Crisis (so did Capcom, it seems ). I was interested in checking out Onimusha with the latest port but it is apparently missing a lot of content from the XBOX version so that kinda turned me off. I just beat Nemesis and had a great time with it. Played on Hard mode, of course. I'm a bit frustrated by the fact that I missed getting Jill's Diary just because I happened to pick up two files in the wrong order. I'm used to there being strict requirements for stuff in RE games but that's just too much. Coming off of the RE 2 remake I found it cool that Nemesis has one campaign but with lots of little variations and alternative scenes you can get.

As far as classic RE goes, there's of course still Zero. Which is fine. The item management is a pain in the butt and it is overall failing hard to be as exciting as the REmake who's magic it so dearly wants to recapture, but on its own it is still a decent game.

Now, that the 2nd remake is out here's some guidelines for Capcom: Dear Capcom, since RE3 was a much "smaller" game, it'd be sufficient to do a "Lost in Nightmares" sorta DLC for it, where a single enemy stalks you entire game(Nemesis in this case) and move straight on to Code Veronica next. That game is a perfect pitch for a remake.

The only Classic-style RE I didn't like was Zero, honestly... in part due to the item management, but also because... without spoiling anything I felt the story was very pointless and go-nowhere.
I actually am probably one of the few people on this planet who doesn't think RE: Gun Survivor is a terrible game. For that matter, the two Outbreaks and Dead Aim MIGHT be good (I own Dead Aim but haven't played it). Also the Gameboy Color RE: Gaiden is becoming a bit of a cult classic. I wish I hadn't sold my copy.
But yeah, my personal favorites are 1 Director's Cut (NOT the green label version, which replaced all the music... I'm lucky to have the one that came with the RE2 demo), RE2 (which I own on PC and on Dreamcast... used to have it on PS1 but, ya know, how much RE2 does one person need?) 3... and honestly, the only problem I had with Code Veronica is it felt like it overstayed its welcome a bit. It's easily the longest classic game. I need to play thru it on the Dreamcast tho, cuz apparently the PS2 version added stuff. Yes, I own all the REs that got Dreamcast releases... I still need Dino Crisis tho...

I remember liking it but feeling like it had some problems. Namely I don't like that ammo is limited but enemies can respawn (I know the obvious suggestion is "well then pick your battles wisely" but that's not often possible, especially on a first playthru where you don't know the game).
Other than that I had the same problem Stop Skeletons From Fighting did, though I think I have wayyy more patience for puzzles than he does.

I really hope we get a "Wesker once again wasn't actually dead, he just chillin on a throne while holding a wine glass in a vampire castle overlooking the VIllage all this time" storyline. They could also stop trying to make Chris into that miserable angsty bitch once he finds out he didn't really kill his boyfriend at the end of 5.

Chris lost his new boyfriend, when he was interested in that new guy, but it didn't work quite out. It seems that the guy will never catch a break. His destiny seems to be already written in 8, but who knows.^^

I don't think Chris and Piers would ever have worked out, they are both clearly exclusive bottoms. No matter what SFM fanwork might suggest.
