www.hardcoregaming101.net/mommysbestgames/mommysbestgames.htmFour action games from Mommy's Best Games, previously only available on the XBLIG, are now available on Steam - Weapon of Choice, Shoot1up, Explosionade and Game Type. All are inspired by classic side-scrollers and shoot-em-ups, with uniquely bizarre visual stylings and silly dialogue.

Love their stuff. Explosionade might be rather simple and thin on content, but it is also nicely tight and focused, and - apart from the lack in challenge - feels quite genuinely arcade-y. Concept-wise, it could've easily been a late Irem game, think Gunforce meets Snow Bros.

I've heard these guys basically described as indie western Treasure, and that has me incredibly intrigued to pack this up sooner or later. Serious Sam DD, while not amazing, was pretty fun, and the gun stacking system was as fun to use as it was goofy. Definitely gonna grab the pack this winter sale, I think.

Quite frankly, I think Serious Sam DD - while a bit more polished, and sporting a lot more content - has absolutely nuffink on Weapon of Choice. The latter is much more condensed and entertaining. Quality over quantity.

What's the deal with the giant woman with the metallic hooters? There's a joke in here somewhere.

I remember when Title Screen came out literally the day after the new XBOX dashboard came up (which goes to show what little time they spent making said joke game). And if I remember Hoddie Girl was one of the pictures on one of the advert tiles (possibly for avatar gear or Sketchers sneakers?) when the new layout rolled out.
