Coffee is the reason this web site exists. There are no better caffeine delivery systems. I don't drink soda (and it's comparatively weak), and energy drinks are straight up garbage. You all folks in the other parts of the country who think coffee smells bad need to bathe in the glory that is a Wawa coffee.

You mean it isn't held together through sheer force of will? This is like finding out that Batman runs on steroids.

Oh yeah, I forgot all about that stuff! Didn't realize there was a brand version of it, though it makes sense. Nice job seeking that out. Not really a brand thing, I've just bought it from like Trader Joe's or whatever - I don't have a gourd, I just use it with a tea strainer (which then is a massive bitch to clean out because it's like wet lawn clippings). Tastes/smells kind of like grass but gives you a pretty good boost of energy. Never got a chance to go there when I was up north although I've heard good things. Other than that my main exposure's to the bog standard Starbucks smell (which I don't know if this is a genetic thing, but it smells like a combination of pencil eraser shavings and skunk spray), and the stuff that gets left on the coffee maker and burned at work every day, so I probably should have prefaced that. I think my system has gotten used to energy drinks, all they do is give me jitters but no energy - especially 5 Hour Energy.

I don't see why it's a bad thing for this thread to exist because you don't like it or have an annoying neighbour. Some people like to get stoned, some people like alcohol, some don't. Why would you give a shit if people are discussing this? Let alone making it sound like anyone who does enjoy it is a piece of shit. I'll never understand why people start drinking coffee or beer. Both taste awful, and there are far better ways to get what you're looking for (caffeine, alcohol). It baffles me as well. It's not like there aren't any alternatives.

I love coffee, beer and wine. Yay.
But one stupid question: Many people here wrote about good games to play while on shrooms or acid-seriously? How? I wanna see that. I have a hard time to believe that playing while on mushrooms can be a good thing, heck, even simply holding something can be hard enough- but fine motor skills?hand eye coordination?what???

There's no way not to sound like a hipster by saying this but...when it comes to coffee and beer, if it's "popular", then it's somewhere between "bad" and "mediocre". Starbucks is crap, nobody likes Starbucks. People only go there because they're so pervasive (and because, if you're in need of coffee, you probably don't have the energy to go very far). Dunkin Donuts is okay but kinda weak. Seattle's Best (if you ever see any of those) is completely terrible. For me, I either to go local coffee shops or Quick Chek/Wawa, the latter two being strictly NJ/PA things. With beer, Coors/Budweiser/whatever is god awful. I'm not even a real fan of more regional beers like Yuengling or Sam Adams even though they're markedly better. But I can order almost anything off a craft beer menu (like at Barcade) and come away really satisfied, unless it's some weird thing like bacon or bubblegum brews.

Let alone making I can't speak for Scylla, but personally, I find drugs to be distasteful, and the general community that surrounds them feels seedy. It's less than ideal to have that sort of image associated with HG101. Even so, it's unrealistic to pretend that nobody on here uses or enjoys drugs. Drugs aren't for me and I try to not be around them, but games themselves are a sort of narcotic. People play games to relax and escape from reality, often spending way more money on them they rightly should. Truly, on just a hygiene basis alone, hardcore gamers and hardcore drug users are often virtually indistinguishable. I try to be a "live and let live, except when it comes to furries" kind of guy.

Nobody asked for your opinion on my post either. Or on coffee for that matter. Funny how forums work like that. It doesn't make sense. Just someone crying about their neighbors. Stop being scared and confront them. We can't help you here. How does it NOT make sense? Do you honestly think that the purpose of my post was to vent about my neighbor and ask for help? The topic is about the impact of getting stoned on gaming, and I shared that it would only being a detriment to my enjoyment playing games, giving an example of how it's already a nuisance to me when I'm doing stuff at home (be that playing games or whatever). My post was MORE on-topic than your complaining about the content of my post and criticizing unrelated things like coffee (which I'm not a big fan of, but that's neither here nor there).

I have a hard time to believe that playing while on mushrooms can be a good thing, heck, even simply holding something can be hard enough- but fine motor skills?hand eye coordination?what??? Nonono. Obviously that's not the case, which is why you shouldn't drive under the influence and what not. Generally you won't get better, however it can still be fun depending on the game and who's playing. I've gotten drunk plenty of times and played like garbage, but it was fun being drunk with others and screwing up together. Couldn't speak for acid though. Weed fine, shrooms, maybe...anything above that I've no intention of trying. Bit too unhealthy and risky. At least when I'm drunk I'm still aware and in control...but that's just me. bacon or bubblegum brews. What?I thought it was both silly and nasty when Ice Cream started using these odd flavors...now beer? It sounds nasty, but I still kind of wanna try. Can't be worse than chocolate wine.

But I can order almost anything off a craft beer menu (like at Barcade) and come away really satisfied, unless it's some weird thing like bacon or bubblegum brews. One of the big ones down here is Community Coffee, which is a Louisiana thing - not particularly good or bad. I will say that I enjoyed Chock Full'O Nuts coffee, which they have at these diners down here - I understand that's a NY thing (although probably one of those chain things that isn't as great as actual local stuff). As for beer, people down here are really into Shiner Bock - I used to like it, but it's just too bitter for me. I'm a big fan of the stuff from Abita (which is a Louisiana thing), it's one of the few beers I think tastes good. Mostly though I drink to get drunk (and not very often anymore, since my wife's back from school). As far as flavored-shit goes, I like the apple pie-flavored "moonshine" (well, what they call moonshine) and the "moonshine"-soaked maraschino cherries. They're not too harsh and they have a good flavor. While we're on the topic of bacon-flavored stuff, I still have a recipe from like 10 years ago that was in a Southwest Airlines magazine for making bacon-infused bourbon - you had to make sure to strain out the grease really well or it'd go rancid, because you had to like put a bunch of bacon grease in a jar of bourbon and let it sit for like 8 weeks.

Give matcha a try, I drink it like every day. More caffeine than coffee and it releases more slowly so you get a longer caffeine high. It does get expensive tho

Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything, myself, but I'm glad it's not just me who feels this way. There's a lot of personal reasons for it, it's just that I, personally, am frightened by the idea of using drugs, even the "weak" ones. I mean, I can't deny that there can't be some interesting effect when taking certain ones with certain games, so I can appreciate hearing about people's experiences with the matter. It's just something I'd never do. Does sleep deprivation count as a drug? Because I feel like everything is way more hilarious when I need sleep, but that might just be everybody.

If I remember correctly, that'd be your body producing melatonin. Probably the only "drug" more ubiquitous than caffeine. (And yes, things get hilarious when you're not awake enough to think.)

Sleep deprivation has way more pronounced effects than weed. With a good indica you would just get really relaxed and time tends to slow down. A good sativa will give you the visual hallucinations and "cloudiness" that makes some people get the giggles (I personally have never had the giggles from smoking but I get really mindlessly hungry on some strains.)
As someone who used to be terrified of mind-altering substances in general, it is not even slightly as big a deal as you think it is. Weed is the lowest of the low danger drugs and as long as you aren't being a dipshit and driving a car or something there is zero danger of addiction and the worst thing you get might be a paranoia-into-panic attack but it fades after an hour or so. If you're in a good environment with people who can keep you level it can be a rewarding experience.
