Pretty simple question, really. Of course, some games were exclusive to marginal consoles, but whatever. Which is the best for you? Because they may seem pretty samey (and in a way they are, awesome Vanquish apart), but they all have a particular ambiance, and gameplay idiosyncrasies. I thought about that because of their Transformer game, which seems very meh... and is one I haven't play yet.

I haven't played Bayo 2 yet, but the first was amazing and is my favorite Plat game as of now. I really liked MGR, but it felt like a step down for me. In fact, I would take Vanquish over Rising any day.
Speaking of Platinum, has anybody played Infinite Space, their DS game? I found a copy not too long ago, but just haven't dug into it.

Bayonetta for me. And that comes from a person that's not a huge fan of 3D action games and Devil May Cry. Madworld is my second favorite. Since I don't have a Wii U yet, I haven't played The Wonderful 101.

Yeah, I guess I would put Vanquish above MGSR, if only because it's different from the Platinum beat'em up, and beyond the style of the gameplay, I enjoy the graphic design. But MGSR is still da bomb.

Includng clover?
In that case, God Hand is so good that Im waiting for a better game after the years, serioously is not like tring to make a better game than baldur gate 2, it is just a beat em up with mediocre graphics and a campy plot.
It is funny you brought up the transformers game, I just got it because black fridays, so far while the cutscenes lacks the uber spectable that are their lastest games but the gameplay is tight, the car forms makes this game the vanquish of beat em ups so the focus is to be on the move all the time.

VANQUISH
Or Bayonetta. But Vanquish was so rewarding.
I also really enjoyed Anarchy Reigns.

Bayonetta 1
B2 certainly adds some better mechanics, more stuff, and crazier set pieces. With that said though, I believe the original is a better game. One just has better polish, level design, and originality for its time. While I played through 2, it just seemed like mini-boss, boss fight, set piece, boss fight, boss fight. Compared to 1 where you'd go through a couple platformy levels, develop a hate for the area boss, then finally fight it before moving to the next boss and their set of levels. Even the map screen is bland and dead while 1 was full of life and character. Both are certainly masterpieces, just seem to offer different things.

I wouldn't say it's hugely better, both are very good, but bayo 2 just did refine things a bit, iirc for instance there are no more qtes like in bayo 1

Speaking of Platinum, has anybody played Infinite Space, their DS game? I found a copy not too long ago, but just haven't dug into it. I have. Storywise, it's a great space opera with a great number of side characters and some nice plot twists. As for gameplay, the battles were a bit complicated for me at first. I couldn't even beat the first boss and I thought I'd drop the game but when you get the hang of the battle system you won't have much trouble winning. It's also fun to rearrange your ships' layouts and assign crew. Beating the game took me over 60 hours. I haven't touched NG+ yet.
