I really want to replay this one, I had such a blast with it the first time around. But goddamn it's hard. Conveyor belt levels are a special type of hell. I did not put enough focus on that point in the article.

Probably because it had been in the pipeline for a while, by the time the article has been published, Noego had closed and Level 22 had been pulled off Steam (on the 19th of September precisely), maybe due to the developers being not able to pay some fees to Valve anymore; it's still available on outlets like Desura for the PC version and MacGameStore for the Mac one. The article also doesn't mention Android among the game's platforms.

You better find the damn thing before it disappears, then! It's a really great find.

Maybe the original group reformed.

Or maybe that publisher had the original code and was already working on the port when the original developer disbanded.
Anyway, managed to get it with a few Steam cards (bless card collectors), don't know when I'll be able to try it but at least I've got it "secured".

It's on GOG now as well! Who knows what's going on at this point.

And back on Steam since a couple weeks ago, but the situation with it is odd. It's got a different Steam ID and it's treated like it's a separate product, yet it hasn't been treated like a new release, since it doesn't figure in the list of newest releases at the end of January. It's called "Level 22: Gary's Misadventure" (without the plural), while - I checked and can confirm - owners of the original version now see it as just "Level 22" in their Steam library. It seems the only difference from the old release is the addition of achievements, and reportedly owners of the old version cannot get some upgrade or discount, they'll have to get it anew. I wonder if it's just some decision from the new publisher, or legal tangles and application processes on Steam that have made such course of action more viable.

I forgot to post one last update: in the end, they caved in and since April 1st they've made the newest version freely available to whoever already owned the old one, although they are still separate and each gets his entry in the Steam library. I won't go over the naming confusion once more (they decided to add a "2016 edition" to the newest one for example).
This bizarre story of how the game "died" and then returned "duplicated" would deserve a small update of the article. Beside achievements, trading cards, and better controller support, there also seems to be at least one true update to the gameplay, the ability to get a better look of the surroundings to plan your moves.
