This game has some of the most adorable sound of any game. Fun too because of how you can grab stuff and sometimes become small to access bonus areas. It vaguely reminds me of the later Sonic CD in some ways and fans of that game may get a kick out of even if it's not about going fast.
I was going to scan the manual for this thread when I saw the article up. But while it has some wonderful SNKlish in it, it's lacking in the cool concept art department unlike Last Resort/Ninja Combat/etc.

I loved this game back the time, I was able to 1cc and even sometimes without dying once.
Two interesting things going for the game is how the game ending changes depending of where you go and what you do in the game, I remember at least three variations.
The small form also boosted your jump and movement speed and is a necesity for some parts of the game like when you must jump over a pool of lava using moving tetris pieces. It is a tool for speed running and skiping parts of the game.
About typos: "Aesthetically the art is cartoony, jovia,l and charming" Should be "Aesthetically the art is cartoony, jovial and charming"

I don't remember this game, but the insect-like costumes of the characters and the general aesthetic remind me of the old Time Bokan anime series from the 70s:

This makes me wonder if it was originally going to be an official game - SNK released official Ashita no Joe and 8 Man games in 1991 also and those series are just a bit older than Time Bokan.

You have solved a decade-plus long mystery for me.

Here in ol' Italy, those Tatsunoko series are something of a cult classic, especially Yatterman which is still well-remembered, and they even brought the live-action film over there.
