www.hardcoregaming101.net/jazzpunk/jazzpunk.htmNo April Fool's Day joke this year (no lies!) but instead we're featuring this comical first person quasi-adventure game, which flirts with dadaist humor, but misses the mark as often as it hits.

I got this one out of a Humble Bundle some time ago and enjoyed it pretty much all the way through. Though, I'll admit, the ending sequence drags a bit and there aren't as many crazy gags as there were earlier in the game, but I was still very much enjoying myself. My favorite bits were these, though, which should show you just how damn geeky I am: I've got loads a handful more on my Steam Community screenshots wall, though be warned of spoilers.

The environments in this game are wonderfully surreal, but I did wish that you could interact with your surroundings a bit more... most of the items you can carry are pretty simplistic, and many of the interactions with NPCs are limited to a few one-liners. Still, the game is such a unique experience that it's definitely worth playing through. My favorite segment is near the end of the game, at the 57:35 mark in this video. I don't know how to accurately describe it, but it stands out due to how bizarrely creative it is. youtu.be/MKIqINfT2TQ?t=57m35sI hope the development team makes another game in a similar vein to Jazzpunk one day, but with more point-and-click/adventure elements to it (which sounds like what they were aiming for initially, according to the article).

They wanted to make something less comedic originally, I'd like to see them try that again myself.
Once the villain appears, the game just dragged for me. He's not a funny character, sadly.
